Might have a lot of enemies after this post but here goes...

Hey guys, long time reader first time poster…

Firstly, I would like to say that I think James Tedesco is possibly the most talented young player in the game. He has incredible speed, strength, vision, positioning and yes reminds me of a young Slater, has developed a great combo with brooks etc etc etc...

In saying that we have a three elephants in the room:

1\. James Tedesco is as injury prone as he is amazing. His running style puzzles me and it's almost safe to say that it is an incorrect running style, and very dangerous - pointed out by Gould moments before he suffered another serious injury against the Sea Eagles.

2\. The Wests Tigers due to obvious circumstances are not rolling in money and have huge debt.

3\. The Wests Tigers have a hell of a lot of other unsigned talent that will come a lot cheaper.

As much as it would hurt to lose Tedesco, is it possible given our options we are going to get more value in the long run locking up Nofo (possible safe fullback option), Sironen, a much needed quality backrower (face it we don't really have anyone, MAYBE fulton and that's a stretch), and possibly look at eventually signing a capable centre to partner Simona (Inu possibly)? As much as I would love to believe in the fairytale that Lawrence will miraculously return to form, guys it's not going to happen and we need to face this and purchase a centre or promote Blake Austin there -he's done well there before at Penrith - certainly better than Lawrence's past 24 month performances.

I don't want to sound negative but I know a lot of you agree that you just always have that sick, worried feeling in your guts that every time Tedesco runs the ball back a million miles per hour he's going to hurt himself. just fear if we lock up Tedesco in a 4 year, 2.5 million dollar contract (possibly looking at higher given his current form), he is going to either; go back to being just a Luke Pattern style "safe as hell" fullback due to fear of injury, or become a more talented version of Lachlan Coote - great player, but never plays because he's always INJURED.

To summarise I think if Tedesco is asking for more than 550k a season, we need to say thanks but no thanks and focus all our money and energy on locking up the likes of Nofo, Sironen, Sue, and search wide and far for another centre to partner the ever improving Simona.

Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I fail to see how he's injury prone. Both injuries he's had were freak accidents.
If he was like Dugan and having a week off for a groin strain and then a pulled hamstring then maybe.
I just don't see how suffering 2 injuries makes him "injury prone."

Have to disagree his last injury was a 'freak accident'. It was a nasty ankle injury caused by his unique running style, putting sharp, powerful force on his ankles and knees just like Gould stated.

Laughing at people crediting Gus

Teddy had a minor complaint earlier in the game where he clutched his leg, thats what caused Gus to comment on his action

I agree its a weird style, he seems to lean low & forward….but thats his go and any attempts to alter it I reckon would lessen his effectiveness

Injuries are part of the game...people need to realise this

We'd be mad to let him go

Did you even see the tackle where it happened??
I agree with Fraze, as much as I hate the statement he's definitely not "injury prone" especially at this stage.

Not sure why you'd laugh at anyone crediting Phil Gould as annoying as he is he's one of the best minds in the game if not the best and nothing you say changes that. And yes Anthism I have watched the game 4 times so yeah I saw the tackle. Sigh, I tried to be reasonable but yeah slightly abrupt, dumb comments have changed my mind - The thing is people we have a history and culture of accepting crappy things - shockingly consistent injuries, poor defence, rubbish signings, consistently poor performances, bad team namings etc…Why? Why should we? This needs and is starting to change and I think Mayer's the guy to do it/doing it. Tedesco missed all of that season with what was yes a freak injury, now he's missing 9 weeks again because he runs silly? How many weeks do you think RTS has missed? 4 is the answer. How many weeks has Nofo missed? Penrith dropped Coote not because he's not good but because he is? Yep injury prone. And I'm glad you named Dugan Fraze because he's a player i wouldn't ever want to sign due to his constant inuries.

The point is WE CAN'T AFFORD TO SIGN INJURY PRONE PLAYERS. Period. And missing what will now clock up to 26 + 9 = 36 weeks within the span of 2 seasons does make you injury prone, sorry. I'm sorry but you have to be blind, severely stupid or in denial not to think that the way Tedesco runs is going to bring countless weeks on the sideline for him and wasted money for us.

Please no more dumb comments about this.

RE-SIGN NOFO, SIRONEN, SUE - SIGN INU

OFFLOAD TEDESCO (unless he accepts a reasonable contract - nothing over 500k)

He was tackled from behind and the tackler landed on his ankle.

Unless he develops some kind of running action where his feet never go behind his body, possibly in a Nazi military march style, the same thing would have happened to anyone.

Good First Post…

At the end of the day its simply business and paying overs on a budget that is in the red is not a smart thing to do.

I also agree he will get no more than $400k a year at this stage of his career.

Either way, lets get it sorted!

Over to you Teddy or Mayer...

Good points either way - I think he could be categorized as 'injury prone', but he has a stack of talent and I think if we can keep him on reasonable money then we should.

Not going to call you names but the guy got his foot caught in a tackle and crushed, nothing to do with running style. You're crediting Gould as a medic?
So glad you aren't making the calls is all I'll say. The bloke has 12 years minimum more of first grade.
Injury prone is a joke at this stage.

I know what you're saying Anthism but it's not just the injuries he's already suffered (can't believe i'm saying that) it's the injuries he WILL suffer if he keeps running like that. It's physics. And yeah no need for snide remarks champ. I live rugby league and have done since i was 4 which you'll soon discover with my future insights and analysis of the game
