Mitchel Moses Kicking

Have any of you noticed how little Mitchell Moses makes from a kick out to touch? He kicked a goal from 40 out last night so he has the power.
At times he is lucky to make 15 metres.

I also wonder what's happening here.
He's obviously being over cautious.
Surely there is somebody else in the team could take over from him.
We get the least distance from penalty kicks from any team.

He drop punts for touch. Are players still allowed to place the ball for line-finders? He should do so.

are other aspects of the game taken into consideration when deciding whom the kicker will be? If kicking on the right hand side I imagine you would not give the job to the left winger.

His goal kicks are improving, mostly only just missing the most difficult ones. Perhaps we should just let him concentrate on improving one aspect of kicking at a time, then when masters that move on to punt kicking ( he did a little beauty second last game onto right winger). So hand the kick outs to someone else or be patiant.

We would imagine that Coach Jason has taken into consideration other kickers - doesn't Robbie do them when around?

I think he's just being cautious and making sure he's finding touch, imagine the crap he'd cop if he wasn't finding touch cause he was trying to get too many metres.

moses has had a couple of scares, think he didnt find touch a few weeks back (might have been melbourne)

suspect hes aiming for the 15-20m mark now instead due to some voices above telling him not to take risks on finding touch and trying for 35-40m

Just look at the hiding Brooks copped here a few weeks ago when he failed to find touch from a penalty.

Better than Benji finding touch, as he never did.

Hahaha , he wasnt that bad but yes, failed to find touch on several occasions

Back on Moses, roll the tapes back, start of 2016 he was punting as hard and far as he could.

Now there could be 2 reasons to this
1) as most mentioned, maybe being cautious
2) he did have an issue with his groin (if im not mistaken). perhaps playing it safe that way too.

Whichever way. i rather he finds the line than not.

goal kicking has improved though so thats good

*touch woodsy*

He is getting help from his mates too, they are trying to score as close to the post as they can
Have seen many recent tries where the boys have ran in-goal towards the post.

Clever decision i reckon..
Thats one thing you dont need to worry about when you have a Patty Richards or a JT in your team

I wonder what it takes to be a great kicker like JT, EL-Masari, Richards or even Hodkinson.

Some modern day kickers make it look real easy, Cleary , Kerrod Holland

Classic Tigers trying to find touch.. I remember in the Benji era we'd be in a good attacking position sometimes and kick backwards to find touch. Some more attacking room maybe?? Lol. Either that, don't find touch, or make like 10-20 metres. They do realise it's a good opportunity for an advantage right?

Yeah it's a shame. At the start of the year they were consistently up in the stands 30-40 up the field. He's got overly cautious the past few weeks.
