Mitchell Moses Suspension Thread

Terrific first half from our boy Mitchell Moses in the u20s origin. Some fantastic kicks/passes. 2 of his kicks led to tries to NSW and almost set up a 3rd with a great pass to the left centre for nsw. Solid in defense too. I'm liking what i see. He may yet be ready for first grade this season. Very positive signs from the first half of the u20s origin.

It's a bit strange. I always thought the Brooks/Moses combo had Brooks organising and Moses as the runner/x-factor but Brooks looks a better runner of the ball and Moses a better passer and kicker.

His involvement with ball in hand has been very good but his defence has been patchy at best. Needs more kgs and experience yet. But definitely looks promising!

He may be ready for an odd run towards the end of the season like Brooks was last year, but certainly not NRL standard yet. NSW cup for the second half of the season for mine, and if he can handle the strength of the men (not NYC boys), by all means give him a run.

Had a hand in every single NSW Try tonight, straight to NSW Cup for me. Austin should be at 5/8 though…

Thought he went very well….I wonder if Luke was watching?

course he was, wouldnt be surprised if he was at the game supporting mitch too

they're great mates

he looked good but i wouldnt be playing him in FG.
austin is a better option.
brooks is better defensively than moses and still struggles sometimes. as painful as anasta can be in attack, he has better defence than moses.

He has been really ordinary in the last couple of NYC games

I'm guessing that might happen when the rest of the combinations he was working with for the last few years are playing FG and your stuck with new boys…. Can't blame him for that...

Didn't see the game last night as i was out but from all reports Mitch played a controlled game. Dean Pay was really pleased with him. Just checked his stats from nrl.com and he did miss 7 tackles. To me that's the stat that proves he's well off being up to first grade standard at this point. His attack has never been questioned but defensively he needs to be able to do a job. His time will come.

both him and brooks go up way too high and get brushed off. they're not used to being able to match players in upper body strength (somewhat) and they tackle improperly for halves. Need to go a touch lower with forwards getting involved in the wrestle not them.

brooks has worked on it pretty well so far, but still racks up missed tackles every game by rushing out of the line to make first contact which isn't bad but doesn't look good on the stat sheet i guess.

I thought he went okay and obviously is a class player but I dont think he was the standout the commentators were making him out to be.

He put up two bombs that resulted in trys, one was good the other was a bit dusty and he threw two passes that led to trys, one was nothing special, the other was a very good selective pass. Other than that I thought for a no7, I thought he stood back and did not get involved as much as he could have.

Anyway as i said, he has class and you cant coach that, so I think we will have a classy player for a long time
