Mitchell Moses

With all this talk regarding Tedesco, what chance of Moses being groomed as a first grade fullback in the future.

With the modern day fullback playing like a five-eighth in attack, Moses' combo with Brooks could be an option in case of Tedesco leaving.
1\. Moses
6\. Austin
7\. Brooks
9\. Farah

Obviously Tedesco 1st priority, however trying to match the roosters and their tpa could blow us out of the water.
Thoughts?

That would be my first choice too. The thing that worries me about Moses is he is injury prone.

Takes years to develop into a genuine fullback. Why put ourselves back a few years when we have a ready made fullback there now?

Moses is a fullback/five eighth

I agree Alex that it would be a step or two back, however it might be the best and only option IF Tedesco goes.
My fingers are crossed Tedesco stays of course.

Of course I want Tedesco to stay. I would think Nofo at fullback and Koro on the wing is the best option if he goes. I would start doing it from the minute he announces he has gone. Play Tedesco in the NSW cup if he signs elsewhere.

Mitchell Moses is in my opinion a better #6 than #1 plus his combination with Brooks works best when he plays #6\. If we were to move him to #1 do we consider a move back to #6 for Curtis? I think they have played this combination before at Holy Cross or maybe it was the younger Sironen that played #6 in that game I saw.

Look I think you're right, (that Moltzen is gone) and it all depends how he comes back from the injury, but he played a lot more strongly at the start of last year.

Be interesting to see how he would go with a genuine halfback, and no Benji.

Watching the kid the other night he is still at least a couple of seasons away look at the size of Tedesco to the frame the boy is carrying as much as I would like him in first grade reality bites here guys not in the distant future .

Nofo to fullback and teach Koro to defend so he can go back to the wing - simple

Other options that don;t require stuffing up our future 5/8 option are Rowe to 1 or Big T at wing with Nofo at 1.

Left field option - if Lawry can get his hamstring right he actually might be ok at 1.

You can't just "teach Koro to defend" and It's certainly not simple.

You can teach someone tackling technique, but that's not where his problem lies.
You cant teach someone instinct or give them the ability to read the opposition, which IS where the problem lies.

Two images of Koro are stuck into my brain that will never be removed.

Him back-pedalling away from the attack over our try line with absolutely no Idea of where he was on the field, allowing the attacker to simply place the ball down.

Or as he did on numerous occasions last year, letting his man get past him knowing the only way he could stop them was to run them down from behind.

Truthfully I would rather never see him in Tigers gear again. I dont think he has a prolonged first grade career in his future.

Will be at least a year before we see Moses as a consistent first grade starter.
Moltzen will come back into the team as a five eighth - his best position and where he would be now if not for injury.
Assuming Tedesco stays we will then have far and away the fastest backline in the comp by a country mile.
And for those consistently bagging Moltzen they should remember in his last (near) full season in 2012 he was our leading try scorer and made more line breaks than any other player in the team.
Last year before he was injured he was keeping Tedesco on the wing .
With the rule changes speed will win games - and we will have plenty of it across the park.

Completely disagree with that. If we let him go he WILL play against us in the NRL and he WILL score numerous tries for the other team (my money's on sharks).

sure, you cant turn him into a defensive behemoth like Morris but you can make him a solid defender and he is getting there. He defended fine vs the dragons, lulia missed 2 KEY tackles. Koro did the right thing by not jamming in on him and letting him pass to the wing for an easy try.

Nofo, Teddy and Koro are my back 3 in 2 years time.

Koro having 1 year in NSW Cup will be beneficial for him as a player. He will grow alot this year.
