People worried about Hastings and suggesting Pearce...

Sounds like something the Tigers would do.

Hastings is unproven at nrl level at present he is beating up ESL which is only marginally better than KOE Cup

Sure.

Hastings has also tasted NRL and knows what he's in for.

Feels like he's backing himself here and im wishing him the best.

hope Hastings does really well with us
I just don't think he is that organising 7 that we need

Hastings could prove to be a great signing. Especially if he’s keen to show how he has matured and what he learned from his time in SL?

I believe so.
He strikes me as a real competitor.

That's why I wasn't against him and AD being the halves. Bounce the energy off each other and try and better each other during the game.

Demps, we desperately need a 6, 7, 9 & 13 to work some magic in the middle with a wide running 1 with blistering pace.
We currently have a 6 and 7 who’s strengths are running the ball, a 1 who can be read reasonably easily but is growing with experience, a 9 in the same category and a 13 who is crying out for some support.
IMO, it would be a huge mistake to dump Brooks, a smarter option would be to build the other positions.
Doueihi to 3 where he has more space for his running game.
Brooks to 6, ditto.
Hastings to 7.
Joe at 13
Lids at 9.
Daino at 1.
With a full season under their belt, developing combos and understanding of each other’s game.

I agree with all this:
"What does everyone think about trying to lure him early from the Knights & giving him the captaincy & the opportunity to finish his footy career at his beloved dads club. He could be the dominant half that Brooks needs. I would play Brooks as a running five eight which would ease the pressure on him. I would then play Douiehi at centre which I think is his best position & Hastings to hooker. Thanks"

Yet I think we can't fit Pearce under the cap. I also can see Pearce Coaching Brooks in being more Brooks. They, from what I see are very similar players. Train hard, run hard, but not the best strategically.

I lament we signed Hastings when we did. Since we now have a lot of halves on the market, it's a miss-step.

Brooks needs to leave halfback for awhile. I can't see him lasting at Lock or Hooker, so I am thinking 5/8. I want to keep him at our club and show some loyalty, Though hey it would be nice to win one game.
Totally agree, Doulihi to Center. We saw when Mbye was 5/8 that Doul's would run hard, defend hard and occasionally pass. While Mbye passes all the time, no idea why Dragons want to swap Duffy for Mbye!?!? (weirdest move I have heard of).
Anyway if we don't defend again. It won't matter if we have Andrew Johns at 7, Locky at 6 and Mal at center, we would still loose.

France offers a great retirement plan for nearly end of career often injured NRL players...
Plenty of wineries in the south to work in later....

Imagine having someone like Pearce to step-up and kick a clutch field goal to put his team into the finals. Our halfback would never think to kick a field goal he would just run away and hide behind the goal posts.

Had a long range attempt a few weeks ago against the Warriors... I think we all remember how that worked out.
