Moltzen back to Fullback

Humble linked in the backline and looked good doing so as another ball playing option.

He pulled off two try savers include T-Rexx at full flight.

He made one error with catching a ball and people want him punted?

Sheesh

Moltzen will remain at half and quite sensible that he should do so. He needs some time to develop but that was always going to be the case. What happens under pressure is somewhat different to training scenarios. Moltzen tends to get much closer to the D line before making a decision and tends to make defenders commit, unlike Marshall, who likes space in front of him. He'll take some time to become familiar with the lines and angles of his runners, as they'll take time to understand his decision making. I like Moltz up front because he does make good decisions, has a great dummy and sense of space, as well as a developing kicking game. Not least important id the fact he's a technically good defender. How anyone could bemoan the loss of Lui is beyond me. You could see the whites of his eyes from 50 metres in defence.

2 games in and way to early to be calling for changes. I'm pretty sure the same time last year we had a similar thread calling for Lui to be punted from half back and Moltzen to replace him, and Lui ended up getting better the longer the year went on.

Humble has impressed me in his 1 1/2 games at FB and Moltzen will get better the longer the year goes on. If we're out of the 8 half way through the year then maybe their needs to be changes. We are usually strong finishers rather than strong starters and it seems the longer the season goes the better we get. Let's not hit panic stations yet. We won a tough game last week and played well last night.

No need to panic with Moltz in the 7 just yet. I thought he worked well there prior to doing his knee and i'm sure the confidence will come back after a few games.

Don't forget it took him a fair few games at fullback to find his feet too.

Dump Utai, put humble under a little more pressure to perform in the 1 and i think thats all the changes required.

Miller isn't up to it. He looked as though he didn't care or wasn't interested against the sharks. He dropped more ball than Moltzen ever will and fell off tackles. Moltzen is there and won't be moved. Lui is gone so stop talking about him. We will win the comp with Moltzen playing 1/2.

Hasn't impressed me as a fullback looks better closer to the action. I don't think he is a fullback, fullback is a specialist position these days. Switch him and Moltzen around.

If we still had Lui we would have conceded atleast three more tries in past two games, how good is moltzens defense?! Very impressive I believe!
And he will find his feet in attack, too many knuckle heads think because he trained there all summer he should be sweet! Takes more then that and anyone who has played the game knows that!
Please stop calling for miller, he is not near being capable in first grade, would be terrible for the nrl squad if he played

I think we have to give Moltzen at least 8 weeks before we can make a judgement , but still am slightly concerned

Moltzen looks slightly lost at this stage in the 7 jersey

Agree. Only NSW Blues selectors constantly tinker with key positions. Moltz is not playing well at the moment but it's still March. He'll keep the 7 for the immediate term. Personally I'd play him at 1 but Sheens has coached more teams to premierships and me. Humble is a good prospect and deserves a decent chance to secure a place in the team. Luckily we have depth at 1 and 7 so Sheens has options if the current experiment doesnt work out.

As soon as Benji can link consistently with our centres like last year and the team tighten up defensively everyone will be happier.

Humble appears to be a good find at this point in time, and I'm pretty sure others dropped their bundle at times during the game.

Moltzen does not need to be moved. He will only go backwards.

I think the problem is more with the no9 at present. Robbie seems to be a slow starter and that is effecting the attacking structure of the team. Iam sure he will get better with each run but at present he is off the pace

Tim Moltzen needs to be put back to fullback. Humble was dreadful at fullback and so was Ready. Bring Miller in and Moltzen back to fullback. That is the best way forward.

So where does Humble go? You're kidding if you think one dropped ball makes a fullback dreadful. Even the great Billy Slater has coughed the odd one up. **Outside of Benji, Humble actually looks the most dangerous player in the team with the ball in his hands.**

Yes, that's why he would make an ideal halfback, with Moltzen going back to fullback, where he belongs. I'll just keep saying it until it happens

John Grant has played a lot at fullback in Rah Rah. Give him a run or interchange him and Reddy at fullback and wing.

Grant is not ready and Reddy is unlikely to play next week due to injury.

I am confident Moltzen will prove his worth as the season goes on. We are only 2 games in. Humble is looking good at fullback and looks strong with the ball in hand when running.

As a team we need to start building pressure at the end of sets instead of going for the super try. Lets win the tussle, tire the opposition, get a lead and then start throwing the ball. Play the football we play in semi-finals. Field position and defence is very important and Tigers lose their momentum in controlling this area of their game.

They will improve as the season goes on, but they need to start practicing now.

Its only round 2! Everyone was talking Moltzen up last year, with a "Sack Sheens" posse formed because he was at fullback. Yep, Moltzen did get better at the end of last year at fullback, reason being? Because he got given time to adjust to that position.

Don't be so fickle, and give him a proper chance at half. Also, Humble did some good things over the last 2 rounds. So he had a few shocking moments, which may have cost us the game. I think every Tigers player has had one of those games (some have had more).

Just give this team a chance to mould. I reckon if nothing changes by round 6 or 7, then yep, build that posse and start looking at changes. Last thing we need is to make knee jerk decisions based on a game or two.

We only lost by 4 points (and we played a horrible 20 minute period), against the new comp favourites. I reckon that was a pretty good result considering.
