Moltzen-Half Back or Fullback implications for others

Moltzens positon should be left right out, played a couple of good games and now he is our savior, please go to the dragons

Moltzen just needs a good coach behind him..BENNET or BELLAMY would get the best out of him..sheens has no idea..

Tedesco from what i hear is the one the Tigers are watching the most…. he is rated pretty highly on the future players of the Tigers 1st grade squad..

i dont know about you guys but Sheens and Co are doing a fantastic job of bleeding these new players for the future of the club... Not only are they looking after the current squad but allready working on the next 3-7 years

Whatever happens I hope the club is smart enough to hang on to both Miller and Tedesco because I believe they are future quality players for the NRL side.

In a perfect world they would be given a little more experience in NYC/State Cup and while this is happening their spots would be filled with experienced players (Moltzen 7, Brown/Reddy 1).

This would be similar to how Hasler brought his through.

Miller left the Roosters because they signed Carney and had Pearce, I'd hate to see the same happen again.

THIS.

Also, T-Rexx, is Tedesco in the same mould as Mullaney (small, fast, great attack, suspect defense), or is he considered a better prospect than Mullaney was?

i dont know mate.. i just got told he is something special and they are looking at him as a future Tigers star.. maybe some of the other forum members can answer that on what he is like

This, people seem to easily forget the lack of effort he put in early in the year,or right up until the last month really,I won't forget that,so I agree, see ya when we play Saints,Miller,Tedesco,Reddy,Brown,Grant we have cover,we will be right.

people seem to have a short memory..

end of 2010 he was being screamed at by the members to come back for Half Back

Guy comes back from a full knee reco and expect him to make a full return to form in less then 12 mths.. WOW!!!

takes at least 12 to 18 mths for a full return

Size wise I Imagine Tedesco will be bigger than Mullaney and with ability at the same age Tedesco is ahead in my opinion
He would be another 12 -24 months away in my opinion

The differences I have seen is Jake would attack on the edge of the ruck, whereas James will follows through the middle of the ruck with just as much success as he does on the edges…

Yes I've not seen much but what I've seen is like above, and I've liked it. Hungry attitude too.

If he can mature while keeping all this he will be very handy indeed.

Tedessco and Mullaney are very different.

Tedessco as been at the top of the tree all the way thru, a star of age group football, a regular in state age group teams.

He was rushed into NYC early and went well.

Tedessco is a complete footballer, a very good organiser with good positional play for his age.

Mullaney kind of come from the clouds and shocked everyone with his performances in NYC, his performance was based on excellent support play, there were always doubts about his size and defence and many believed he was "just" a support player.

Tedessco will be a very good first grader, I think 2013 is when he most likely to get a run.

Not much to add given comments in previous posts. I will be interested to see what Sheens does with Moltz if he stays and Lui goes. Will he be left at fullback or moved to half back? I heard Farah interviewed late this season and he praised Moltz for the job he was doing organising the team from fullback, shouting orders. Will Sheens maintain this or have Moltz do the same thing from half?

As for Tedesco it was a pleasure watching his attacking skills this year, he tried in defence but was playing behind a team which often let itself down in defence.

His form and effort at fullback before his injury were just as bad.

For me Moltzen has never really looked to attack the ball. He looks as though he never wanted the ball and would position himself so that he wouldn't have to take it on the full. I'm not sure what happened leading up to the finals but it looks as though someone got in his ear and told him to catch the ball and run it back straight. I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, coming back from a knee reconstruction would of been tough physically and even tougher mentally. I'm prepared to give him first shot at fullback and let Miller have first crack at halfback providing he is allowed to play his natural game.

I know it will probably never happen, but Benji to fullback and Rowdy to 5/8\. No idea about Moltzen, he can go to the Dragons.

For me, Lawrence to 6 and Marshall to 1 is too much structural change. Now consider the fact we will most likely see ourselves with a new, inexperienced 7 in Miller and that's way too much change and pressure to expect success like we will next year.

In 2012 we will have one of the greatest teams on paper at club level in recent memory and we must take advantage if that.

I wouldnt mind seeing Lawrence given the number 1 in the trials to see how he goes, at least he will attack the high ball. If it doesnt work out come round 1, he is still the best centre at the club.
