Moltzen haters

He copped a lot of flack last week from a crowd on here.
Just wondering what their thoughts are after last night's good performance?

Pretty average performance if you ask me. Didnt play bad but wasnt a performance worthy of humble pie eating. Great footballer but not a halfback. One decent pass doesnt make a great game. There was only one halfback in the 17 last night and it wasnt Tim.

did exactly what was asked of him and shifted into the backline great. he definitely played a more disciplined game then he did last week.

They are not asking much of him them. Geez it was an improvement on last week but lets not get carried away. He touched the ball less than 10 times on my count and didnt even kick.

Played a good 5/8ths game.

Marshall ran the show. I don't feel he can do this consistantly for an entire season and Lui is the better option

Much better this week, but yah not a half.

I really don't know what his best position is, probably 5/8 but that's obv taken. He's played his best at fullback IMO, but defense is an issue. He's def a talent.

Don't think any one actually hates him.
He played average but a step up from the previous week.

 haters :unamused:

great to see him take advantage of a retreating defensive line with an overlap.

what else was there.

Exactly my thoughts Bon. I would have thought a try was a certainty in the circumstances.

This is when I need a gif of J'Mo waving

Is coming back from a serious injured so all these little steps in the right direction are positives. Good game by Moltzen and he will continue to improve.

Exactly my thoughts. Nobody here "hates" Moltzen.

My whole argument last week was that he should not be playing a key position so soon after coming back from injury, and that Lui and Miller IMO are ahead of him in the pecking order at halfback.

I have no problem with Moltzen as a player, I think he will end up a very very good player. But he is not a superstar and wanting him at halfback ahead of Lui at the start of the year (like many on here were calling for) was absolutely ridiculous

He played 5/8?
I wasnt sure what he was doing or sposed to be doing, looked to be parked in the centres, Miller in his 20 mins did twice more what Moltz did in his time on the park
Still not confident, early in the first half he got the ball with room to move, didnt want it, passed straight away

I thought he made a very modest contribution to the game. It is understandable that he will take time to get back to his best but Lui is a class above on current form.

Definitely played a back-seat role to Benji. He was a link-man in attack. Supported a couple of breaks. Seemed to lead the kick-chase a lot of the night and saw him talking a lot in defence.

Yeah I noticed the same thing. At the moment he's thinking pass before he's thinking run. His running game is his best asset IMO and he should use it whenever the chance presents itself. You won't ever see Marshall in the same position stop and dump the ball off to someone nearby in a worse position.

I'm happy to give him time to get his confidence back though.

Chased hard, threw a good pass, and defended OK, missed a couple of tackles but thats what halfbacks do.

Too quiet IMO. Didn't look very energetic TBH and just wanted to give it to the nearest runner instead of doing something more. Average game from him, knowing he can do a lot more.

Miller took the line on probably more times in 15 minutes than Moltzen did in 80 minutes. Hopefully his confidence level gets up more and he takes on the line more now.
