Moltzen Staying Or Going

To me, the backflip has happened after fridays court appearance for Lui… i think its just as simple as Humphreys thought Lui would get a little more dumped on him in court that what he did and now he realises that Lui will be around next year so a)we dont need Moltz after all, b)moltz wouldnt fit in the cap anyway?

I saw on another thread here today that Tedesco has just signed an NRL contract next year too?, not sure if thats confirmed or not and i guess it doesnt mean he actually gets a start anyway.
Isnt it also common knowledge that Sheens wants a bigger pack, so I dont think we will see big $ thrown at any new backs, especially Carney.

If we keep Lui on after what has alledgedly happened we will look like a bunch of hippocrates and I for one will be a very unhappy tiger

Rowdy's comment shows why he should be the future captain of our club. let Moltz, his manager and the 2 clubs sort it out. I am Benjis biggest fan but he needs to get over this whole mates with Moltz thing, its not park footy

The Tigers should let him honour the new contract. If he wasnt allowed to look at other clubs in the first place there wouldnt be a drama .Lets just say he stays and gets a season ending injury ,what will his worth be to his next employer. He signed a 3 year contract and he should honour it .

just was hearing on sky news benji marshall and all the nz players were haveing a team photo he spoke about tim moltzen he said he was unhappy if the tigers are not going to keep him!!!!

don't care, Benji just wants to keep his best mate around

i care, happy teams win comps, 1 percenters win comps - if u have a star player who is that little bit happier to go to training with his best mate and that rubs of onto the rest of the team then so be it sounds good to me
and moltzens style does complement benji

He should still be honouring his tigers contract.
but he should honour his dragons agreement too
i want moltz to stay but in saying that the tigers let him look around and are now pulling their hair out as he found form.
the moraly right thing is for humphreys to say goodbye and we will see you in 3 years

Agreed on both counts. Marshall needs to build a bridge and get over it. Maybe he could take some pointers from Lawrence. That was a very wise comment he made.

As much as you want a happy team…

1) You can't have your 5/8 running your team selection no matter how good he is and
2) He's getting paid a lot of money to play football - he'll get over it

This is a professional football team trying to run a business. If Benji has a problem with the club for letting 1 of his mates go then he should get over it. The club doesn't have to cater to him in regards to keeping his mates there just to keep him happy

Hi all I've just joined this site. I have been surfing site for ages nd I think that we would be better off if he stayed but that's only my opinion

I say better this than a quiet off-season!

So true, especially since we don't have the regular off-season "mystery prop" thread this year!

"Moltzen move ALMOST certain" ALMOST!

Moltzen still a going concern for Tigers
Brad Walter
October 11, 2011

WESTS TIGERS players will be disappointed if utility Tim Moltzen is released to St George Illawarra next season.

After months of to-ing and fro-ing between the two clubs, the Tigers are now expected to formalise Moltzen's transfer to the Dragons within days but star five-eighth Benji Marshall said he had been of the belief that the 23-year-old was staying put.

''He is in [Las] Vegas so I don't even know if he knows what is going on,'' Marshall said.

''The last I heard he was staying around so I just believe the last thing I heard, and that is that he was staying. If he does go, it will be a big loss for the club, and as mates I think a few of the boys will be pretty disappointed."

The Dragons signed Moltzen in August and the Herald understands that St George Illawarra officials were not aware there was any problem with his move until the Tigers revealed last week that a formal release had never been granted.

After deciding to look elsewhere when the Tigers were trying to free up salary cap space to accommodate star recruit Adam Blair, Moltzen is understood to have had a change of heart and the club was keen for him to stay.

''One minute we thought he was going, then we might have kept him, then he's going, so I don't know,'' centre Chris Lawrence said. ''That's for himself, his manager and both clubs to decide. They have to work out what's best for him and try to work out an agreement between the two clubs.''
