Abraham , my opinion is based on his performances on the field…Nothing to do with his "toughness" in overcoming his injuries.
Plenty of players overcome injuries again and again, and still put in 100%. Moltzen wasn't one of them. Especially wearing the No. 1.

Tough is tough.

I don't like players labeled as soft or pea hearted because to run onto an NRL field your already probably 10 x tougher than the guy down the road.

In tim's case to play at that level with a hole in his skull shows he doesn't lack heart.

Yeah he may not be Tommy Raudonikis 'tough' or Blocker Roach 'tough', but credit where credit is due.

Always easy for people to call players pea hearts sitting behind a computer and who have never played at that level.

Oh wow, look who's back, last time sighted was the 2011 finals series I'm pretty sure… :unamused:

Since when is posting part of supporting the team???

Hey, to ink credit he's been floating around making posts, and even If I don't see eye to eye with the guy on things, he still creates thought provoking discussion.

You've been a ghost T-REXX. If I knew any better I'd have you pegged as an Eels supporter.

I could always start to post if that makes me a better supporter lol. I read the forum everyday. Sometimes arguing with fools, others may not know the difference.

T. Rex is just upset that since we've sacked the good doctor our injuries have virtually disappeared over night. Therefore proving all us 'keyboard warriors' right.

I'm with T-Rexx on this.
I could never understand the criticism of Moltzen's courage. To play professional rugby league against blokes twice your size when you have a metal disc in your head is about as gutsy as it gets. Not to mention how many times he has come back from various injuries. The guy should be being talked about as one of the bravest in the game.

Upset about what??

Calling some one like Moltzen as having a pea heart is justified??. The guy has had injury galore and not just at the Tigers but in his junior years playing rugby and still continues to try and work his way into first grade. Anyone playing NRL has some toughness about them. And if anything someone who still continues to play even after the amount of injuries deserves more credit.

People are quick to jump on a player when they are down. Pat Richards is a perfect example. Plays like a champ everyone loves him. Soon as it turns to shit, he needs to be punted.

Saying I don't support the team cause I don't post, and very rarely and if at all will I ever criticise a player wearing the Tigers Strip. Pretty narrow minded way of thinking by the amount of posts I make.

Ahh this is professional sport champ. Are you saying people shouldn't be dropped if they play poorly?

Maybe that is where u and i differ..

if a player deserves to be dropped so be it, but a few things,

* Since when does a player dictate if he stays in the starting squad. Im pretty sure that is Taylors call.
* If i was him, I'm not going to just step aside. He is being picked, he plays.
* Saying a player should be dumped is one thing, but the respect shown towards prob one of the guys who deserves more respect then most, cops it off the fans for his performances. Happened with Benji and to an extent Farah. You cut Farah, he will bleed Orange and Black blood. if the team isn't performing the fans are quick to bag the living shit out of the players.

Oh boo hoo

With the bouquets come the brickbats…theyre paid top dollar and if you dont want criticism dont be in the public eye

As for your colourful bleeding cliche, weve seen through that BS with benji...its all spin

Moltz is a confidence player, probably as a result of the head injuries hes recieved...as I said way back at the start....Ive seen him play some very gutsy football....but him dogging it regulalrly and giving team mates a spray for cock ups when hes made plenty himself never sits well with most

Youre full of crap

I respect your opinion but disagree. Tough isn't tough. I witness "Toughness and Heart " every day in my profession. Seeing the toughness, heart and courage that terminally ill children and young adults possess would put a footy players toughness to shame.
I wish Moltz all the best for his future, and hope he stays injury free, but I'm glad to see the back of him. A frest start might be just the thing he needs to kick start his career.

The respect is mutual. However we are talking footy terms, not sick children and the like.

That's all I'll say though, as the thread seems to have turned to shit.

Tim was one of the few players who seemed to be able to anticipate what Benji was going to do. (The other was Beau Ryan.) I think you'll find he appears more than once in the 'Wests Tigers best ever tries' video. Even if he was fit, he had no hope of playing NRL here unless the unthinkable happened and Moses, Tedesco and Brooks all got injured. Taylor showed his attitude by selecting some pretty ordinary players in the centres when Simona and Nofo were injured this season.

There's a spot for a 5/8 at Manly next season, so good luck Tim.

The Benji thing is a completely different story, im not one who will come out and say i am in the know but i know for a fact Benji asked for a release to join the Dragons around 2012, he was knocked back.

Spot on. I wasn't so keen on Moltzen's kick returns but I loved watching him combining with Marshall in attacking plays close to the line.

What prompted me to write my post, was you implying that footy players are ("10x tougher then the man down the street) other people."
I see others that are a lot tougher, and they've never set foot on a footy field.
Alex Karras quote comes to mind." Toughness is in the soul and spirit not in muscle."

Well said mamma, everyone is courageous in their own right- whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally.

I'd say Moltzen is more relentless than courageous though. Anyway, coulda woulda shoulda- best of luck to him wherever he goes (he needs it!)

I always felt that Moltzen was very unfairly maligned on here.

He was a scape goat. I hope he does well at Manly…he may even start??
