Moltzen

I think the big difference is that he can now step off his crook leg at speed that has made a big difference
And being able to do this has given him much confidence which is helping him in all parts of his game Happy will eat humble pie IF he can keep up this form

Still not a Moltzen fan. Today he made a good, potentially try scoring run, then ruined it with a stupid pass that put Parra back on the attack.

Next time he made a damaging run he ruined it again with another stupid gift pass to put Parra on the attack.

As far as fullbacks go I rate Tim behind Slater, Stewart, Boyd, Dugan, Minichello, Merritt, Barba and Locke.

He's deserved the pasting he's copped on here, but things have slowly improved and he finally had a really good game at fullback. Hopefully he can keep this form going.

I was watching the game today. And considering that + last week + the fact that I predicted he would improve… I am really concerned that he's going to continue to rise. Ugh, I was happy he was going but now, not so much. The fullback position for NSW is totally up for grabs and honestly Moltzen is such a boys club pet it wouldn't take too many good performances in the Red V for him to end up there.

I agree. His positional play when defending is still very average too.

Never questioned Moltzens talent. He has infuriated me at times with some petulant plays and lack of desire to take the game on. He is a very dangerous ball runner when he is the mood.It is the strongest aspect of his game, his running game and yet I think he doesn't inject himself enough. Today he was everywhere and looked very menacing. Very busy. He has looked disinterested and totally lost at times this season. However it is clear the confidence is returning and like the Tigers in general the swagger is coming back. I still think he could run the ball back harder and more often. Don't think any has ever questioned his talent. If his will is there he can be a force. It could add a totally different dimension to our attack that has been missing al year.

Eddie you are correct in saying that nobody questioned his talent but many questioned Sheens project to turn him into a fullback.

The critics also ignored how difficult it is coming back from knee construction. Not to mention he was doing it in a position in which he has played about ten games.

Best game of the season. I was a big fan, lost faith, but I have a very strong feeling he will assist the boys deep into finals. We will be very sorry to see him go if he keeps up this form

can he pass on the run though?

My only issue with his game today was this. He made a few poor decisions after his breaks. Apart from that he was excellent. Could provide us with some real X-Factor in the finals.

I don't want to turn this into a war between the "critics" and his supporters, with each group of supporters claiming victory each week. Everyone wants him to do well, little things like not doing enough to save tries, and running 20 metres acros field motioning to the winger to come inside him canno't simply be put down to his knee.

I have had the same issues with Moltzen since 2009 pre knee reco. I would like him to be a busier player and use his running game more. Run harder and more often. Im sure it does take time to build confidence and learn the in's and out of the fullback position. Its good he is carving up poor opposition the past couple of weeks, the busier he is, it adds another dimension to our attack that has been missing all year

Neither do I Eddie and I dony consider myself a Moltz supporter. Rather i have simply always thought he had the right gamr to be a very good fullback. He is not there yet but he has had a few performances like this that justify the project. He will have a few more shockers too before he is fully developed as a number 1.

moltzens form was probably a little overdue but he's only just regained confidence coming back from his knee op. was always going to take time problem is people want him playing his best first game back….
