Moltzen

I think he is a great option at 7 mainly because he has a great long passing game & gives Benji more time & space to do what he wants to…

His kicking game needs improvement but you can see the potential there...

This could well be a long term halves combo, time will tell...

Also Lui will throw a spanner in the works eventually as I think he is a really gifted ball player...

Never know how long Benji will be here, there is always speculation when he gets to the end of a contract... so I think its important to have both Moltzen & Lui develop alongside each other as that could be our halves... if Benji pulls the pin after next contract...

I am really liking motlzen in the seven. If sheens continues with the team that he has chosen for the last two weeks for next year, I am not really fussed if we don't look at the market for a genuine halfback.

I'm sold - Gallant at FB and Moltzen at 7\. Love the extra speed and penetration. Robbie can run things from where he is, we don't need Moltz to do any more organising than he is doing already.

And I agree that Morris had a great game off the bench - he even had a lot to do with the set up of the second try, I think it was.

What I was most happy with was when Farah got binned I actually said aloud to my mates.

"Geez, I'm glad we've got Morris on the bench. He's a great hooker, the Cowboys have nobody to replace Watts".

Of course they had Burns but, who?

I've been hoping Moltzen got a decent shot at 7 for a long time but can understand Sheens wanting Moltzen to bide his time at fullback. He looks fairly comfy in the 7 at the moment and thats down imo to the time he's spent at fullback. If he takes his chance, we may just have found a 7.

Let's hope you are right. It doesn't sound like we are going out to buy one so hopefully Moltzen is the bloke for the job. 2 out of 2 with him in that position so he has to be doing something right.

me too. this last game has finally made me a believer in gallant. his positional play and backing up are great and that cover defence on the cowboys break in the 9th minute was just excellent.
now all the calls for him to have been there from the start make sense to me (i never get to see lower grade games as i am in WA) and sheens must be cursing himself for not having 1\. gallant, 6\. marshall and 7\. moltzen earlier.

ps: had no qualms with moltzen at full back. also, i think his kicking is pretty good.

I have to admitt the game against the Cowboys made me really start seeing Gallant as our long term fullback! Not only for the reasons you mentioned, but he barks orders around and is very vocal! Every time JT looked to get involved he was screaming JT, JT, JT…

God, Moltzen is fast. I'm sure last year he had pace but not exceptional blinding stuff. This year he has been very quick. Beau Ryan our winger will be the slowest winger in the back-line.

ah, thats good. you dont see these things when you only watch on tv…

Moltzens going good but the only thing with him at seven we still have a very average kicking game.

All 80 minutes last week and the first 40 minutes this week our kicking games had nothing.

We are the only team who look to find touch when 30 metres out.
