The only player he support runs off is Benji.

Heighno, Dwyer, Galloway and Fifita can all be there ready to offload and he is parked out to the open side inside Benjis shoulder.

Much better tonight than in the past but a guy who jogs to the defensive line on kick returns has no place at fullback. Look at the difference in set starts they got off of Wesinal Banana last night.

Spot on again Smeg. McKinnon may be old, slow and crocked but his support play is second to none, and Moltzen offers none of it.

Why must there be a thread on Moltzen almost every week?

He keeps putting him in a position he isn't suited for and Moltzen keeps playing the way he does than the threads keep coming.

Seems logical to me.

If our coach can be a broken record of repeated mistakes and blunders than we will keep playing our broken record

What about his brain explosion in the first three minutes of golden point, we have the ball for a new set first tackle on the newcastle 40 metre line and decided to throw the ball away to try and get the miracle try, it happened straight in front of me as we were sitting on the half way line on the hill side, dumb. I like him as a player, but that would have been two games he cost us if they would have scored some points of that, he cost us the game against the titans by letting the ball to bounce.

Jesus aren't there enough threads on this guy as it is?.No matter what the topic is someone is bound to come along and sook that he should be halfback, then someone will disagree, then we will have yet another Lui vs Moltzen thread.Seriously just let this obsession of starting the same threads about the same guy every week die.Surely we have more important things to talk about instead of this tired old garbage. This forum will fall apart the day this guy leaves.

Awesome, criticise a player for trying to win the game. I actually thought that was something positive from him, he was backing himself.

If that was Benji, everyone would laugh it off as exuberance.

Someone has to take Fitzy's place as perennial whipping boy.

moltz is a good halfback, but pleaseeee, his week after week fullback efforts are embarrassing. i would rather see fitzhenry back there than him!! PUT MITCH BROWN THERE PLEASE! We can use any winger/centre, just like Simona last night was outstanding. But a fullback is a specialist position, they must have 1 on 1 defence, they must be good under the high ball and they must run hard and straight on kick returns… Mitch can do all 3, even Ayshford could do it, but Moltz is running around scared of the opposition! If we need to play Moltz, then replace Lui with him, i dont care, they are both great half backs.

Tim Sheens logic

John Morris - 3 years at half back WHY

Tim Moltzen - next 3 years at full back WHY

If Moltzen is dropped to State Cup all the threads about him will disappear. Please Souths sign him.

heard it all before, moltzen performed ok, nothing special , nothing bad, yet still gets a thread…..

blokes give him a ridiculous amount of unwarrented criticism

We shouldve got a penalty there, ball knocked out by Knights and picked up by an offside player.

I only saw moltzen when we got in their 20 when we had the ball….he was very quiet, did little, offered less

I watched Moltz's kick returns last night. His technique needs to be changed. He is running back at an "too upright" position. That's why he is getting dominated. perhaps needs to drop his head a little and lower his centre of gravity. This will probably come with time, and experience, as he has pretty much spent his entire career playing close to the line…well up until some "genuis" thought otherwise...

Moltzen isn't a fullback or centre. He is a half. Dump Lui, Moltzen to half. Problem solved. He is a good player, but at half.

Moltzen is awesome probably close to the best player in the team we missed him terribly in the finals last ytear, thank goodness McKinnon is going so moltzen can be permanent fullback, ahe should really be halfback and lui should go but of course Tim Sheens doesn't listen to the fans, Tim moltzen will be origin fullback in a few years mark my words!!! Remember the 2nd half comeback against the broncos, moltzen was awesome that day they'd have smashed us if he wasn't playing

I too watched his kick returns…he was too gutless to take them up...always called his winger around to do his dirty work!

Gutless!!
before anyone becomes an NRL player, from an early age, they are targeted for cheap shots, are subjected to endless tough training sessions, that involve huge physical contact as well grueling fitness sessions that have the body screaming in all sorts of pain. in their late teens, with their flegg/ball, the schoolboy rep carnivals and normal club footy for some involve them playing 50-60 games in a season, all against other talented, hard hitting footballers, playing most of those games sore

this is well before they get near the NRL, anyone who is gutless is found out well before NRL….

I'd say gutless is a tad harsh. He appears tentative and it will be a while before he gains full confidence in his knee. Whether first grade is the right place to be doing this, I doubt it

A straight fast run at the edge of approaching defenders then draw and pass to the winger would be more effective, as opposed to a canter looking around to offload the ball before doing anything. He is smart enough to draw a couple of defenders.

Particularly with Brown and Tuqiri outside him, If either Brown or Tuqiri lights up not many will chase them down in space
