Momorovski wants out

I genuinely dont get the love of some here for Momers. I dont dislike him and I think he is a solid first grade player in the mold of Shane Elford but Ive never seen him do anything impressive.

His fans here regularly quote his try scoring strike rate, but they are all catch and crash tries, I cant remember him beating a player.

He is a good solid player but I think he has shown enough to know that he is VERY consistent, because what you see is what you get. This IS his ceiling.

BJ & JTJ may not be consistent but their ceiling is MUCH higher than Momers. Talau looks raw but I think he has natural talents (mostly size) that Momers doesnt have .

IMO I'd put Momo on a par with Talau.....and we have Talau.

I wouldnt be upset if we traded him for a Laurie for example, but he does have enough that he would be one of those players I watch nervously in another clubs colours wondering if we let one get away.

Yep on par with Talau and I have them both behind Doueihi as a centre as well.

Good point, he is about our equal 5th best centre heading into the year.

Should the Tigers let Momo go you'd have to think Talau has stepped up during the off season.
For a bloke who wasn't at all ready for first grade and got thrown in the deep end in 2020, TT is penciled in as my big improver in 2021 which is exciting.

I acknowledge an intercept try is long range, but how many players did he beat?

I know you are more about stats and how many players he beat etc etc to score his tries, however,in my honest opinion,it doesnt matter how he scored them, the points were on the board and another small point I will make,he at least was in the position to score the try or he was 100 percent trying his guts out for the club,he may not be the fastest or suitable player most want but he is footy smart and a trier everytime he pulls on our jumper...

Not doubting that, I really see him as a very similar style of player to Doueihi. Problem is we have Doueihi and he is better than Mommers.

I agree with most of what you say in this post. I do think his effort is excellent. He does seem to be in the right place at the right time. These things are all excellent and make him a good, solid first grader. I am not questioning that at all.

IMO that puts him on a par with Talau. All Im saying is that I dont see a high ceiling for him and Im actually arguing the opposite of stats. The Stat that gets thrown up most often for Momo is trys scored and of course a try is a try, my point is I dont thin he possesses the skill to beat a man with pace or footwork which IMO is what we need.

I don’t get the point of comments like these ? Are you saying because he busts his guts , that he should be given a starting job ? Or simply that he busted his guts , and we should be more appreciative ? We have to be more ruthless with recruitment unfortunately . Picking loyal blokes above all else , is how we’ve gotten into this mess . It sux , but we need to be more colder with these decisions , which sux for guys like Momo , who all things fair should be in the team. But life’s not fair sometimes .

And the points weren't on the board when he missed the relatively easy shot at goal v the Dogs

Probably cost us Top 8

To be honest, he should never have been taking that kick. It was obvious he was crumbling under the pressure. One of our senior players should have taken control in that situation.

I said he didnt just fall over the line ala r.jennings ....he put himself in the position to finish off the plays and he gives 100 percent when he is out there....if he moves on,sobeit,I never stated he was the greatest player in the squad...he is an excellent footballer not in Madges plans apparently...and he can kick a goal or 2,so if he gets an offer elsewhere good luck to him and I hope he has a good career...

Intercept try Tigers V Dragons backend of 2019...ran 85m

I acknowledge an intercept try is long range, but how many players did he beat?

I know you are more about stats and how many players he beat etc etc to score his tries, however,in my honest opinion,it doesnt matter how he scored them, the points were on the board and another small point I will make,he at least was in the position to score the try or he was 100 percent trying his guts out for the club,he may not be the fastest or suitable player most want but he is footy smart and a trier everytime he pulls on our jumper...

And the points weren't on the board when he missed the relatively easy shot at goal v the Dogs

Probably cost us Top 8

To be honest, he should never have been taking that kick. It was obvious he was crumbling under the pressure. One of our senior players should have taken control in that situation.

What is the point of having a goal kicker if when its hard or it counts someone else has to take the shot?
