Moses Mbye’s first question

From where did these opinions of Mbye not always having a go come from? He was great at the dogs as fb. Went really well for us at fb as the new bloke. I've never noticed him dogging it.

I've not noticed hom showing a lack of intensity or urgency at all.

Agree. I think he was prominent in all games he played and I think he’ll just get better.

I don't like that he doesn't have a preferred position, im sick of hearing the old
'I'm just happy to be in the 17, i don't care where I play, I'll play wherever the coach wants me'

I want to hear Mbye say, ' i really want that no 1 jersey and I'll be showing the coach why he should hand it to me, but if he decides on someone else and thinks I'll be better suited elsewhere, then I'm happy to play there too.'

We need a no 1 who's a no 1, not someone who says, oh yeah I'll play 1 if the coach wants me to.
I don't like that Mbye thinks his greatest attribute is that he can play 9,6,7,3,4,1, versatility is great but focus on one position and own it.

No 1 and no 9 are our biggest and most important problems going forward, Mbye needs to decide what he wants to be.

He should stick to fullback. In fantasy, he was 1 of 6 people to score over 100 and it was in his first game at fullback for the 2018 season (at Bulldogs.) In the halves, his choices aren't the best. Plus, we want a fullback that can kick. He can do a MEAN torpedo. If you remember in the game Bulldogs vs Sharks 2018, he did a torpedo from his own 25 m and it landed at the 25m mark at the other side! He needs to stay at fullback

The last bloke that said that was shoveled off to Canberra whilst we chose to hang onto the pip squeak that stiffed us in the end after we payed him an absolute motza before he'd even earned it.

Mbye had a good season for a first year fullback. The knock on him at the Bulldogs is that he is lazy and lacks ticker. There were many times he put in a weak tackle or got out of the way for tries along with jogging back and not hitting top speed until just before the line with us last year.

I think Madge is just the coach he needs but sometimes you either have mongrelise in you or you don’t.

I did find it interesting Maguire mentioned our spine 2/3 times and didn't mention Mbye.

However he didn't mention others as well (Liddle).

Still in light of Mbye's comments it is at least a discussion point potentially down the track. Probably far too early to read too much into anything though.
