Moses Mbye Super Duper Thread

It is quite ironic that paying players ie Farah Sironen Blair to play for other Clubs screwed our Cap to pre Voldemort which wasn't ever going to happen again under Pascoe's watch when Taylor was punted... now we want to pay anything to get rid of players we signed cause we stopped paying players to play for other teams..

It would be funny..but it's just the life of a Wests Tigers fan cycle..

Really? Is that across the whole comp? Even if it was just at the Tigers I'd be surprised. Moses MBye? Mitchell Moses, perhaps.

MBye leading the comp on try assist for any player who's last name starts with 'MB' ... perhaps.

It’s true. He’s got 6 try assists, equal more than any other winger or centre in the competition. He’s got a really good passing game and has set up some nice tries for us this year.

Mbye was actually one of our better players when footy returned. Can’t remember what game , but he had a blinder and people were saying it was his best game in a tigers jersey. Then it just fell apart and he’s had a few shockers since then. If Reynolds goes to super league and mbye to titans then that’s over $1million dollars we have to play with.

Quoted for truth.

IMO he only had 1 "Shocker" and Im not convinced it was his fault as he was all of a sudden inside a debutant on the wing who wasnt up to it.

Since then all eyes have been on him and whilst IMO he has played reasonably well since then, since the "Shocker" everyone is looking for $ 850k performances out of him.

Correction - we always looked for a 800k performance from him every game.

What did he think we paid him that to pretend to be a captain, bludge on the field and be a little eloquent with the media.

Don't think so.

So you think a player should be trying to play to their salary? If a player is underpaid? Or a player should just play his best every game? Its ridiculous. Not his fault that he was signed to an insane contract. His best is not worth $800K.

I actually don’t mind Mbye. Defensively he was great and it started coming together in attack for him. I agree it was only one shocker, but since then even defensively he hasn’t been that good. If he isn’t going to be our 5/8 or fullback then he isn’t worth $950k to us and we are better of going with Talau and BJ in the centres.

To be fair it was the Bulldogs that signed him to that contract We were just stupid enough to continue honouring that when we signed him and added an extra 2 years.

Man Boob Mbye has been a major disappointment.

However I’ve always thought his best position is probably at 5/8, but he’s never been given a run there. With the season effectively over and nothing to lose I’d be tempted to give him a couple of weeks at 5/8 to show us what he can do as a playmaker. That should resolve it once and for all. He’s offering nothing at centre, he’s a waste time there, plus I’d prefer Tommy be given the opportunity to settle in at left centre.

Agree with this. We have some bad contracts, but need to field a side.

As previously mentioned when you subsidise a player to leave you only have the remaining amount of their contract to buy a player.

Mbye and Reynolds are both on massive overs, but it does not make sense to get rid of both of them, pay 600-700k for them to play elsewhere to free up 800 that will need to be used to sign a 5/8 with only the leftovers available to actually upgrade the roster.

I would shop one and keep the other to play 5/8. If Mbye is a centre then I would be happy to carry a fair whack of his contract to leave. We have young centres coming through & you can pick up good outside backs for the amount that it frees up.

He leads the competition for try assists for any outside backs this year so he has a lot to offer

It's not his fault, but I haven't heard he is giving any of it back because he is not putting in though.
