Not really keen on this being in the media and not sure why the club and player spoke to them about it. I'd be happy for him to go, just doesn't seem to fit anywhere for us. One option for this year anyway would be to put him in a sort of Connor Watson type lock role. I still think twal is a bit limited at lock and mbye has the right sort of skills to play there.

Agree mate

But deep down we and Moses know he’ll suck in that role too.

Agree, unfortunately Mbye ain't Connor Watson:cold_sweat:

Watson is way overrated on here, imo.

There's a number of players that could take note of how you can go about things with your current club and moving on

Dear Telecrap...

Please fact check your articles..

This is behind a paywall thank god but shows everything that is wrong with RL reporting ..you can't call it journalism..

Headline Former skipper demands early exit from Tigers deal..

The former Wests Tigers skipper has asked the club for an early release from his big money deal. đź‘€

Fact..No release has been requested..Moses has made no demands..permission has been sought to look elsewhere for 2022.

Telecrap ..you caaaaaarn't let facts get in the way of a good story..you caaaaarn't..

Wish him the best of luck. Have always found him a great club ambassador and I actually hope he gets the same chance as Corey Thompson did (with Titans) - the best possible outcome for he and his young family.

I don’t blame Mbye. Maguire is jeopardising our season by not picking the best players due to their pay packet that’s why he did not put him in the leadership group which I thought was very harsh. Mbye is a much better player than Kepaoa & should be playing in the centre’s he has played there for Queensland so surely he should be playing there for the Tigers who are a bit short of centre’s & Talau for mine has played better on the wing & should be playing in that position with Jake Simpkin on the bench. Another example is Russell Packer who really has not had that many opportunities to prove himself due to his pay packet while Luke Garner who would be on much less money is still given more chances even though his performances have not been that great for a while he did the same with Josh Reynolds overlooking him for Benji so then he would leave which is what happened. Maguire should just pick the best players he has available now & so we can make the semis.

I don't know what games you have been watching but I disagree with just about every player assessment you have made.

Mate if you think Kepaoa is a better player than Mbye I don’t know what game you are watching
All I’m saying is that Maguire wants to make room for new players & is trying to get rid of the players who are on big money which is not their fault yet they are the ones being punished with his selections it is Ivan Cleary & the club’s fault for signing them.

Mbye isn’t a winger. Mbye is barely a Center. Can’t catch the ball so no good at Fullback either. Mbye’s best position is out of the team or if I’m being generous the bench, trouble is he is a poor dummy half substitute as well. Once a few more of the NSW Cup boys are ready Mbye wouldn’t even make first 17.

At least he’s honest can’t ask for more than that still can’t see many teams lining up for him.

Most likely already has a club lined up, otherwise wouldn't be asking.

It opens the door for all clubs both NRL and ESL.
Classy way to go about things.

Not like Matto or Josh chucking the sulks whilst having a deal on the side ready.

It’s about getting value for money. We care about West’s Tigers playing good football, and fixing past errors. This is just Madge correcting that.

Can you honestly say Mbye is playing to the standard of his contract?

He’s basically on origin player money

There is no doubt that M'Bye is being paid far more than his real value, however that is not his fault and appears to be trying to do the right thing by our club.
If he does move on at the end of the year i would hope we would not be paying part of his new contract though unfortunately this would be unlikely. As far as the rubbish the murdoch media spew out it is exactly what i expect as it is agenda and lies from page 1 to the last page.

Not Mbye's fault that Ivan Cleary panicked and paid Super overs.

I really respect Moses Mbye for his honesty and I really am hopeful that he and the club will find a mutually beneficial outcome.

Like others, I am impressed with the way that Moses has handled things. Very professional.

He has acknowledged that he hasn't been able to lock down a position and as a result the club is not getting value for money and that results in the club and he not getting what they want out of his contract.

I wish him the best and hope that he finds his feet elsewhere.

Out of that Mbye and Packer money, we desperately need to ensure we find a good backup half and a quality winger.

Honesty? Admitting to having an opportunity over 4 years to play in accordance to expectations and not doing so? I think every player of every club would share that level of honesty. I want to admire the guy, I really do. I see only his game and for the most part I thought he was better than we saw?

I like Mbye but where do you play him. He hasn't looked good at dummy half although he may pick the role up. He can play centre but I can understand picking Talua ahead of him. Mbye is better defensively and that is important but Talau is young and needs experience. Mbye can't play on the wing or fullback because he drops too many high balls.

Mbye, who allegedly played last year with 15 bone fragments in his knee contrary to his managers wishes,is arguably the best centre we have in the club rite now,but still is just an average NRL level player and his real worth about half of the $800k were paying him
He shld be playing 1sts this week, and Kapoa squeezed out(who will be hammered by Eels )
Mbyes manager has seen JRey receive half of his final years payout to leave a year early and probably figures he cld get the same for Mbye....will be an interesting negotiation
For mine,JRey was at end of his career and unemployable in NRL,which isnt same for Mbye who will be snapped up but not at $800k

It's no coincidence this has come up the same time Hastings talk has ramped up again.
Believe there is a club who reached out to Mbye's management which prompted this request, him leaving this yea isn't out of the realms of possibility.

The 2 most bashed guys that were/are under contract with the WTs ...J Rey and Moses...have both been classy in their moving on or wanting to move ...
Irrespective of their huge money deals,at the time both were applauded by many, some disagreed but they were signed...
I liked J Rey as a person who did his best everytime he played for us,even under the public hummiliation a woman put him through as well as injuries he aquired...
Moses has always been shoved in different positions because of his versatility and in my opinion has done his best and always had the clubs and teams interest at heart...both were origin players...
compare these 2 guys to JA,Matto and Slimey for example, they never publicly spoke badly about the club, always represented the club well and neither of them ever TANKED.....
