I think the best thing that’s come out of Mbye playing centre is the balance in our backline. In saying that, esan isn’t playing to the form he produced last year, Madge needs to drop him like he’s been doing with those that aren’t performing.

For who though? Esan at his worst is better than anyonee else.

@gallagher I see where you are coming from, and actually In fact his goal kicking has improved a lot. So Madge needs to fire a rocket in the backside. Is it because he isn’t getting early ball ?? Why he’s performing poorly, I don’t understand.

Credit where credit is due...Looks like he has found his position...

Not a bad audition for the QLD centre spot either..

Where have you been hiding Milko ?
Lol

Yeah, not playing well. Second year syndrome?
If your the opposition coach you'd be making sure he's well marked.

@hobbo1 haha. Been busy. When I decided to make a post i forgot my password..Made a new account called ‘chocmilk’ in the meantime...Then couldn’t be bothered logging out of it and back into this one when Kul reset my password...

Long story...ahaha

@voice_of_reason He needs to start running forward. Whenever he receives it he always shifts back left across the defense and becomes an easy target.

I cynically said to myself that moses was playing for a cowboy contract throughout the game.He played well.
Good luck to him,he must be a happy camper this morning- and the prospect of playing the second state of origin must put a smile on his face.

Probably his second good game of the year.
That's what he's paid for so I'm not going to praise him for it.
Hopefully he keeps it up.

He had a good game last night but i was surprised how slow he was when he made that break in the first half that led to Nofos try. Cowboys ran him down easily. I was also disappointed that not one WT player was backing up - it looked crazy on tv - Mbye out on his own with about 7 cowboys mowing him down and no WT players in the frame.

@diedpretty I said the same thing in the live game thread. He seems a lot slower this year and I cant figure out why, I was thinking maybe its the knee injury he suffered earlier in the year.

Whether it was the 'demotion' from starting fullback, or just the positional change, he went very well - I mean close to man of the match well!
I like how Madge is trying to get more energy in our attack by having Thomo at the back and Mbye certainly made a point of getting involved.
Wouldn't be too concerned about his pace. Jennings on the other hand...

@barra Jennings needs to drop a lot of KGs, he has come to us overweight and the only benefit we are getting from him at the moment is that he is good under the high ball.

I just noticed a HUGE tackle at centre that Mbye laid on Hess when he would’ve strolled over un-touched during the 1st half. Was before they scored their first and kept his confidence down for the rest of the game (until injury). Thought mbye was fantastic

Our support play is a big part of our problem and why we don’t score more points. How many times this year have we seen a player make a break and they are looking around for support and there is nobody within cooee of them. I would suggest at least twice a game if not more.

His defence was good, but I do not think that centre is his best position. I would prefer him at fullback to Thompson, but his performance in the centres shows how little depth we actually have there
