Moses to small for 1st grade

Moses has a terrific attitude to defence. His technique still needs work and Im sure the coaching staff are working on it but his attitude is fantastic. He stands his ground, doesnt go in half hearted and shows no fear.

This year he has marked some of the biggest and baddest edge runners and at the end of the season should be proud of his efforts. If the committment is there, the technique can be explored. He is committed.

I agree totally Stryker. He has put his body on the line against some guys who are 30 kgs heavier than him. He needs a bodyguard like Tony Carroll was. My problem all year is our forwards except for Marty and the odd Ava performance show no aggression. Other teams hit in their tackles and we seem to just want to grab and stop the off load. If they are sat on their backside they won't offload. I know you can't teach aggression but i'd like them to take some angry pills in the off season. Except for Lodge, he seems to take them all the time.

I remember Wests Tigers had a fullback who played in the 2005 GF who at one time was considered too small for first grade.

I fail to see how either him or brooks are up to first grade i know this will piss people off but they simply arent ready for every one thing they do well they do 5 bad we partnered them up to fast

Rubbish.

Preston Campbell, Brett Hodgson, Matt Bowen etc. All examples of midgets who had great careers. Size doesn't matter if your heart is big enough.

The way he cut down Rose 1 on 1 shows how good his technique is, he might not be huge but he has the technique and skills to suceed . Next year the interchange rule will suit him to a t.

I have often seen him beaten really easily often early in games this year… With some very poor attempts... But it seems to spur him on and his attitude for the rest of the game in D Is very good

Elaborate tell me how as a partnership they have excelled this season.
With an older head in or outside of them i believe they both would have been more consistent. to put as much pressure as we have on to rookie halves was a poor decision imo. Remember we are equal last place and alot of that is due to poor decision making

Moses was always gonna get rolled against Dugan in that one on one situation. As far as I've seen he has decent tackling technique. When I watch him on defence, it seems he tries hard and puts in a lot of heart, as in defending well means a lot to him.

He has definitely improved and will for sure understand what it means to be a first grader.

Totally incorrect.

In 2015 we finished 15th.

We were not and never will be equal last in the record books. That is a fact!

What a ridiculous thread. Neither are near the worst defenders in the comp.

I wonder how many people realise that Thurston averages more missed tackles per game than either Moses or Brooks! I thought not…

They're young and surrounded by average players with poor tactics yet are still better in defence than elite players like and Maloney and Thurston.

Spot on.

I notice that Moses was 7th in the comp for one-on-one tackles. Not a bad effort, but may indicate we need to give him better support.
