Yeah Danos good selections there mate.

I have watched The skin I live in and also like it. The fact it is so different from anything being released lately really makes it stand out. Its a wierd mind bending type of film that sticks with you. Banderras is excellent in his role. Like you said definetly not for everyone but worth checking out for those who like things a little crazier.

Havent seen Bellflower but some friends who have hate it lol….I'll check it out .

The first one looks like a return to 70's and 80's horror. Will watch it as well.

I have one as well. Its a Korean flick called I Saw The Devil made by and starring some of the people from the other classic Oldboy.
I am a fan of the serial killer/cop genre and this one is way better than most. One let down for me in American slashers is that the bad guy performs aweful acts on people and at the end he simply gets shot by police. The payoff isnt square. This one has the balls to change the formula. Very violent but superbly acted and the fight scenes are awesome. Definetly worth a squiz.

Finally got around to watching drive with Gossling last night. Really like it.

Its a slow burner but developes the characters well and then pits them against each other. Good revenge flick and soundtrack. A lot dont like it but they were obviously expecting the fast and the furious lol…

I didn't mind Drive, it has more of an arthouse feel to it, and the level of violence was unexpected which also gives it more impact. There is talk of a sequel…

Cheers AJ

hope you enjoyed it. I wrote 4 episodes, the first of mine is next week. Cheers

I really enjoyed the first episode of "The Straits" and will be tuning in again this week for sure.

Went during the holidays with my wife and saw Chronicle, having only seen a teaser trailer of it.

Totally underrated film - shot in the shaky camera mode like parts of Super 8 and Blair Witch Project, and is uncomprimising with how much of the story you have to work out for yourself, but sucks you in completely.

a firm thumbs up from the Underdog.

Saw a couple of new flicks on DVD that are worth checking out.

First one was Columbiana with Zoe Saldana (Star Trek and Avatar). She plays an assasain and the action pieces were pretty good in the film.

The other film was The Texas Killing Fields, with Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chloe Grace Moretz. Directed by Michael Mann's daughter and he produced it, so the filming style is very authentic and the backdrop around the Texan oil refineries and swamps gives the film a bleak and oppressive feel. The acting is pretty good although I understand why this didn't get a theatrical release, it's not a very commercial film in terms of feel. The ending is a bit of a letdown but overall it's worth a look.

Just watched Skyline again…very underrated film! I liked it even more the second time.

It is a bit like the Matrix meets Independence Day. Well worth a look.

I just looked on line and apparently this movie sucked?? Maybe I am overrating it.

Would be interested as to what others thought?

Yeah I didnt mind that one Monkey.

The fights were over the top and the fact that the two brothers both made a champions tournament when they had just started fighting again was ridiculous.

That being said, the story and performances from the whole cast was brilliant. Nick Nolte was incredible.

It was a lot deeper than I expected and so i did enjoy it.
