Moving forward

As good a crowd as they get at Grand Finals now, think Michael Ross may have played fullback that day.

Just did some checking, it was actually a Tuesday, not Wednesday( my memory fading) but Barnes was Tigers full back, Yow Yeh and Moraschi in the centres, Hal Browne right wing but Ross didn’t play.

Greetings all, at 70 years age, and after 60, yes 60, years as a loyal Tigers supporter I felt inclined to join the chorus.
Like everyone on here, I was gutted by Sundays result, especially after the boys showed real fight to claw back into the game after Holmes fg. The result of course was wrong and distressing.
However, I thought Ben Gardiner summed it best when he said that we could waste a lot of energy and emotion on what happened, or address the key issue- can we back it up in the coming weeks!
Anyone can see, by our recent results, we are improving but whatever happens in the coming days, I hope that we use it to build further on what we are doing.
Oldies like me like to say onward and upward.
Let’s do it again v Broncos.
After 70 years Hal surely you know we are due for an inept performance now.

harsh, but probably correct😪
That’s what’s happened before but I’m going the other way and suggesting another big effort.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, players, officials and fans want that wooden spoon so it should be a huge motivator.
Remember, the glass is half full not half empty !
Let’s show ‘em Tigers !

Sorry Hal, after just getting dudded by half a full-time whistle, I’ll reserve any optimism for when we start winning.

Thanks for that.
Would love to see a couple of our current players play like those names, then again there wasn't the money in it.

But remember that was a third party decision not our game performance.
We did fight back from a seemingly unlikely position and you can’t do that if there is not some pride and spirit developing amongst the team. Yes, it may have been Jimmys 300th but there are other things coming up that should attract as much motivation.
Our aim should be to finish the season with a bang not a whimper.
I fully understand where you’re coming from and have been following this forum for quite a while, from afar , and know the consensus BUT and it’s a big BUT we are showing some signs of life and we’ve got to nurture and support that.
Call me foolish but I’m hoping. Let’s see mate at 9.45pm Saturday.
🤞🤞

I remember going every game in 60,s and loved watching Keith Barnes and his kicks for goal from 5 yards on his side of halfway -great memories

I would say Barnes was the best of the old goal kickers i ever saw and El Masri the best of the new soccer style goal kickers

A few points of note:

Cows completions 50% in H1 and over 30 missed tackles. We fail to convert chances too often.

Tigers take a strange 2 points and then completely roll over for the next 15 mins (standard)

Tigers show uncharacteristic resilience after a dud sin binning.

We finally click when playing catch up football, something we have sucked at all year.

With 1 second remaining we fail to close out a game. Not of our own doing I know but that’s just the WT we all know.

I don’t think that game showed us much other than we are still WT.
