Moving in the right direction

After last night even beaten by a lot was satisfied with the commitment the boys showed for the full 80min.
There defiantly has been a cultural change at the club and a positive one , injuries are the curse at the moment it is a bugger as the team were on an up and looking good.
I am now convinced with the injured guys coming back over the next month and the new found direction Coach Potter has instilled in the team an appearance in the finals series in 2014 is on the cards, just hoping the injury gods have had there way in the 1st half of the season.

Right on th money Snake. It's just a shame our team is so inexperienced a bit more experience and the injuries in the future shouldn't effect us as much. I reckon with the right buys in the players market within 2 - 3 years this team can be the next nrl dynasty. Like the bronco's of the 90's or modern day Melbourne.

Our execution was shot to pieces last night, but we hung in there. Theres a renewed fight in this team this yr, they won't pack it in.

Apart from those 5 minutes before half time we showed a helluva lot of commitment

I think our tactics hindered us more than anything , especially when we got into the Roosters red zone

Why we didn't target Tupou with a lot of grubber kicks instead of bombing arguably the best back 3 under the high ball wasn't smart tactics in my opinion

Agree. We may have been outclassed last night but at no stage could I fault the effort of the team. This is as tough as we've done it this season, but with troops on the way back over the next 3 weeks, hopefully we'll see a renewed resurgence. If we can knock over Cronulla next week, we'll have a fair chance against the Broncos as they'll be missing half of their forward pack plus a couple of backs.

cause you can't grubber from 40 out.

needed slightly better go forward, but moreso ball control and finesse at the end of sets. If we can score then we get the ball kicked to us, which means an extra set of 6 for us, and one less to them. When this happens 3-4 times in a game, thats around 8 sets difference between the two teams that ultimately costs us. (hopefully i explained that well enough)

getting taupau, gavet, sue, woods, galloway all on the same paddock will do wonders next week for our momentum and farah/anasta will provide more options for a calm measured end to sets, whether that's a line drop out or try.

The experience and finesse comes from NRL games.

These young guys are starting to chalk them up - especially Brooks (rocks and diamonds) some people have mentioned over the past few weeks. He still needs an old head to point him in the right direction.
Austin is nearly as inexperienced as Brooks - not the answer.

With Farah and Anasta out Brooks is too easily targeted. We have said since the end of last season - we need patience. He'll get there don't worry about that.

If we can get a bit more go forward that will help him to help us.

Lets be honest, we were pretty ordinary, we did hang in but I think the roosters kept us in the game through playing some poor footy themselves. No doubt we're a better team than the last few years. We do seem to be on the slide though.
