Moyland reminds me of....

One of our very own in Brett Hodgson….just his plays last night brought back good memories. Just plays with such a cool head. Dont think Teddy has nailed down the blues fullback job just yet. I think Moyland has the goods and can captain.

For me Tedesco has Moylan covered in every facet of a fullbacks play maybe bar play making - speed, power, positional play, defense, support.

I do think however that Moylan will be the perfect foil for Cleary at the Panthers and could develop the partnership long term in the Blues jersey.

I see him way behind James at the back, but as a top flight six as well, as he has a really good left to right passing game. With Cleary going great guns and assuming Te maire is coming back into the side shortly, I see Moylan staying at the back at least in the near future. Geez the Panthers have a lot of good youngsters coming through at the moment, particularly backs.

Moylan could play 1 6 or 7, he is a very gifted player. Hard to compare him with Teddy because they are different types of players. At present Teddy's game is based on speed and power, where Moylan game is based on guile. I have always compared Moylan with Daren Lockyer

I see Moylan on occasions giving team mates a gobful when things aren't going well…I loathe that... . He occasonally loses his cool with ref's when things go against him.
Lots of maturing for him to come yet...

I agree he has a bit of Hodgson in him , not sure what Penrith's plan for 2017 will be for him though

I don't see Cartwright as a 6 , bit like Sironen , can get caught out laterally

But then with Cleary and Te Maire Martin in the halves , what is the future ??

I actually see a lot of Darren Lockyer in Moylan. I think he will develop into a good five eight but will need to improve his general kicking game.

Tedesco at fullback, Moylan at five eighth and Cleary at half will make up three quarters of the NSW spine in the not too distant future - hooker is still anyone's guess.

Cleary is amazing - 18 years old and only 7 NRL games and he's already leaps and bounds ahead of Brookes and others, with regards to being cool under pressure and leading his team around the park.

I like the looks of Connor Watson the little I've seen of him…. Don't know where he's from tho.
If he develops further over the next two seasons I wouldn't be surprised to see him feature in origin

honestly i think moylan has become one of the most over rated players of the past decade. hes a media darling that people say has a great game even when hes poor. to me hes an ok first grader but if i was going to compare him to any tigers it would be tim moltzen. to me he is one of the softest guys playing NRL today.

as a fullback his positioning is terrible, he always passes to his wingers and never brings the ball back and his support play is non existent. i think his ball playing is ok but nothing special, all he does is come in on a second man play and then pass to the guy outside him when they have a 3 on 2 and people go crazy over it.

Not a fan of James Graham's captaincy style either..? I've seen him unload on his teammates even when things are going right… 😕

Yes he also looks the goods at this stage - a Central Coast junior I believe. With Watson and Cleary, add in Brookes and Hastings (if they can eventually mature and live up to the hype) NSW may finally have some decent halfback prospects on the horizon! As long as they don't crumble in the rep arena, a la Pearce & co, that is

Moylan has a touch of the timid Tim moltzens at times with his reluctance to run the ball now, that never used to be in his game but this year he will pass it to anybody to prevent running the ball.Still he doesn't shy away from his other duties unlike what Timid used to do.
