MVP Chris Lawrence

Now I’m gonna begin and say that I wasn’t the biggest Lawrence fan and agreed with other forumers to say he shouldn’t be picked

I use to be a big fan before that hip injury and always loved his passion for the jersey

But after watching that Newcastle game without Chris Lawrence, you realise the difference he makes with this team

Big difference is the line speed, those Newcastle forwards were rolling through us and Lawrence usually leads that line speed it’s evident without him we were a little bit flat footed

Also, he’s ability to attack a halfback with his strong defence….. look what Chris did to Croft poor kid hasn’t been picked since along with shutting down Cronk, Moses, DCE and with the Broncos they didn’t even score a try

There’s zero doubt on my mind that Lawrence would’ve shut down Pearce as well

We missed him bad imo and would like to see him come back ASAP

A number of Forumers have been cut down and taken a lot of stick over Rowdy.

Good to see some, are now seeing Rowdy's worth that a lot of us have been seeing for donkeys.

Missed big time on Saturday.

Yeah… His hands let him down occasionally but other than that is hard to fault him

Agreed we certainly missed Lawrence on Saturday - also Packer. Lawrence brings the intensity and Packer a bit more mongrel - both were lacking against the Knights. As much as I like Huth, Rochow, Mats and Twal, none of them bent the line or got us onto the front foot enough.
We looked like we were playing at a different speed and were waiting for the Knights to drop down a cog into a grind with us - but they kept up their intensity and effort, won the ruck all day, played the ball fast and ran with intent. They defended with much more fierceness, actually they bashed us really (4 HIA's?).
That is ultimately why we lost - really the score in the end didn't reflect the difference between the 2 sides.

Always been a fan, and i still think he is THE number one in the game with his running lines. This stuff you cant teach but he does it every week. He runs such a good angle each time and he is only ever let down by the service he gets from time to time.

Eating humble pie here this season. Glad he was rested because in the past things tend to go wrong if he is playing busted or worn down. A fit and firing Rowdy is a very good back-rower these days.

Where's Geo? Thought the big fella would be all over this topic!

On the bus from Hanzhou to Suzhou….reading through the live thread looks like Rowdy's dirty work was missed against the Knights....

Give him another 3 years i say...heart n soul Club Legend....will be great to see him finish with the most career games for the Club...

Rowdy has been great.

However lets remember he often finishes the season real busted.

A week off here and there will be good for him I think.
