Naiyvora the giant for rowe

Curtis rowe is too small. Offers little in attack and seems impotent in defence. Looks scared to run it hard. Why notbthe giant at the back. I know he is lazy sometimes but has a good set of hands and imagine that beast returning the ball. Rowe is just not at this level

Lol that's among the worst ideas I've heard this year. A+ for effort though. Wouldn't be against seeing him come in though if Simona goes to fullback.

Absolutely not but Simona to fullback and Lulia in the centres. Rowe might have potential but he needs to build up physically first and even then he was never At the level if Tedesco

Terrible idea. Mr T is a winger or backrower. Fullback would be suicide. I'd be inclined to slot Simona back there and bring Lulia back into the centres.

The less people you play out of position the better IMO, keep Rowe there for now, hopefully it will only be a few weeks until Teddy is back.

I definitely don't want to shift Nofa, Richards or Simona out of position and with Moltz injured Rowe is the only real option to replace Teddy.

It would be a great time for the Inu rumour to come through though.

I'm against moving players out of position - but moving Simona to fullback isn't so much out of position TBH. Simona can really carve up with that much room to move - like I keep saying he's played amazingly well there. Yes he's a gun at centre, but I wouldn't mind having at the back to cover.

I'll be fine with Lulia at centre to make that happen.

Just don't see anything in Rowe, perhaps this has happened too early for him.

I think Rowe has been fairly ordinary however I agree with this. Playing Rowe means less players are out of position and that allows those players to improve within their current role and not have to adjust when Tedesco comes back.

So over the weekend i make my way down to Belmore Sports Ground to not only support our NSW Cup boys against the doggies but to also watch Daniel Abou-Sleiman play his 1st game at fullback for the Tigers after being fast tracked up from Ron Massey cup after only 3 games for the Magpies. For those of you who don't know who this kid is, he was a Bulldogs jr with plenty of potential who played fullback for their under 20s & NSW Cup team before being released to head to Japan last year to play rugby union. When the fulltime whistle was blown i sat there like all of the Tigers fans there with HUGE smile on my face, not only because the boys had smashed them off the park but also because Sleiman in my opinion had played the most complete game by a fullback in NSW Cup for the last couple of years! His positional play and support around the ruck, his onfield talk and his contact to me was heads and shoulders above where Curtis is right now in his development. He made some good returns, half breaks and even scored on debut.

When Rowe was selected to replace Teddy i posted on here that IMO he wasn't quite ready for 1st grade and that he was still trying to find his feet in NSW Cup,
he lacked 1st grade contact in trying to stop tries and was tentative on kick returns and hitting holes. But to minimize major reshuffling it was a move that had to be made given the situation we were in without Teddy. Rowe is a kid with plenty of potential and a future star but atm he is swimming with the sharks who will keep circling until he finds and starts building confidence. I think Sleiman will be given the nod ahead of Rowe to cover Teddy in the future, and a few more games in NSW Cup will only add pressure on Rowe to improve and retain the no.1 jersey in reggies!!

I think we could move nofo to fullback and bring koro on the wing…..would give us much more in attack and I don't think defence would be greatly effected.

Rowe is ok but reminds me of hodgo on one leg.....at least Rowe is catching the ball, something moltz, lote and utai had a big aversion to.

Dan was very good in NSW Cup. I do not rate Rowe at this stage of his development.

However we have to be very careful how we use our second tier cap so you almost have to keep things as they stand

Alot of the Dogs 1st graders were there at the game, they're probably wishing they had kept him now! lol 😕 :sign:

Moving Simona out of position to bring back Lulia, who to date has shown nothing, makes no sense at all. You'd be getting a *possible* gain at full back and a big drop off at centre.

Rowe's been ok for mine - solid defensively at least. He's clearly not ready for first grade yet but he's not letting the side down and obviously he's there as a make-do measure. Hopefully it'll be good for him long term to get this experience and see where he needs to improve.

My personal view was that if we could go 2/5 in this spell without Farah, Tedesco and Sironen then we'd be pretty well placed for the rest of the season. We've had the best possible start and in that context it seems silly to start chopping and changing areas of the lineup we hope will be settled for the back half of the season. This is the only reason why I can stomach Anasta keeping his place.

Having said that, the news on the kid in reggies is interesting. In an ideal world it would be good to have a backup full back who is both solid defensively and offers something in attack.

As usual, you're right Smeg. Whilst injuries are hitting us, we have to be realisitic with who we can use as cover given the salary cap constraints. I'm not sold on Rowe, but it looks like he'll have to do for now.

This is the only idea that could work with minimal impact to accommodate big T and allow Rowe to go back and get a state cup season under his belt
