Say something you didn't like, Mrs Brooks? :unamused:
No one is denying his defence has improved - it's consistent game management and decision making that are seriously lacking.
I like the kid but when do the excuses stop?
First it was Farah holding him back, then Moses, then… nobody, but our team was disrupted.
This year he said himself he is going to 'own the team', only for his apologists to blame Marshall and then Farah ... and the old 'hard to shine behind a beaten pack' chestnut.
Could be the best half in the game behind a good pack?
No team with a good pack wanted him.
As for stats?
The only one we should be interested in is Wins v Losses ... and we need a more consistent halfback to get us into the positive.
Hope that was clearer for you.

Pick you up on one point ck.

He was made an offer to go to the Storm (who have a reasonable pack imo), he chose to sign with us.

Do you have evidence to back this up ?

The evidence was on the Forum at the time the "Big Four" drama was unfolding. If you would like to go back through the archives you'll find it as I am not going to do it for you. I don't need to as I know it's true.

Ahhhh …ok :unamused:

Nathan Clearly will be here in 2019 that's why he has not resigned with the Panthers for the last year which Gus has wanted get the season done bring on Luni the young half Penrith has with Maloney for two seasons 2019 2020 let him learn it's done relax Brooks 5/8 Clearly in the number 7

What do we do with Reynolds? Lock? Centre? Dummy half with Liddle? Release, if so to who?

Release - to whom ever is dumb enough to take him….

Brooks took a paycut in his last contract when Ivan arrived last year. After his progress this year with Ivan I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to keep playing for the club even if it meant knocking back some extra $$$ which would be a massive boost for the clubs image.

Cleary and Brooks could be the NSW halves in the next few years if the combination works.

Panthers have some very good young halves that they may want to keep.

Reynolds said last week he would be open to going to the Super League if things didn't work out.

It just does not sink in …Brooks has had 100games to impress , tied of if he had a great pack this does not equate to his decision making when the pressure is on or in the red zone .
Is this club ever going to progress from the potential mentality.

If you can't see that Brooks has improved immnesly this season then you're watching the wrong games

Go look at his stats alone

Chuck Brooks in a Dragons or Storm kit and he could be the best half in the game….. he's playing in a pack where his forwards all struggle to get 100 m and maybe one will hit it

He has been our best this season and there's no competition

Pointless Teddy, **you're wasting your time arguing with those two idiots you have quoted**.

I'm sorry mate but I just don't agree with you at all

No one is making excuses for him….. it wasn't long ago he was the whipping man at this club but his performance this season has done the talking and I'm certain has picked up plenty of fans!

The forward pack is quite a legitmate excuse! I'd like you to name me a half who does so well behind a poor pack....

You're arguing about the only stats we should worry about are wins and losses - so are we gonna totally ignore the fact Brooks was leading the Daily M medal at one point during the season and was talked about as a possible NSW debut

You can see he tries and short kicking game has improved significantly

I don't think Brooks is a game management half etc - I think he plays better when he isn't given all the responsibility and plays of a half who can control a game such as Benji

You can't fault that he doesn't try cause that would be false the kid always has a go

You say no one wanted him..... watch how many clubs will go after him after this season

As I said earlier, Brooks has been our best this season

Well said Teddy23..probably should change that btw..

Brooks will to win was No more evident than when he did find touch late in the game trying to pin the Dogs down their end…a poor kick granted..he was screaming at his team mates including Russ the Packman to pack the scrum...they ambled up..

My problem if we pick up Cleary in 2019 , we won't be able to afford any quality forwards

If it was me , I'd be picking up forwards now and then wait for Cleary in 2020

And you don't think that Penrith aren't going to want some sort of compensation for Cleary for a 2019 changeover …...

Don't stick the cart before the horse , we have made these mistakes in the past , you can't win a premiership without a quality forward pack , no matter who your 1,6,7 or 9 is

If we sign Latu I'm happy with our prop rotaotion

Packer - Matalino - Twal - Latu

Need some second rowers badly! Completlely agree Happy the pack is the most important part of your squad imo

I cant agree the pack is the most important part of your side.

Look at Canterbury the past few years. Have had decent forwards but god a awful spine.

Obviously you need a combination of both ideally.

However Ask me to spend close to a million on Klemmer or Cleary and I take Cleary every day of the week.

Vice versa though

Look at the Warriors

Nathan Cleary is a must without Ivan we are no hope of getting a player if his quality. We can retain Brooks he may take less to stay with the Tigers and play with Cleary.
Reynolds is a great competitor but injured and overpaid. I’m sure if he’s fit next year a team will take him for 450k. It may cost us 300k to offload him but at the end of the day we are vastly improved.

We should have a ton of cap space for 2019 Tui, Sue, Grant, Siro, Kev, Marshall, MWZ and others would have to be over 1.5m in salaries.
We were also well under the cap by June 30 and assuming we front loaded a few.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we signed Cleary, extended brooks and Liddle, gave Farah another year and still had room for a strike centre, backrower and prop.

The Warriors have a good spine and are in the Top 8\. There doing well.

Teddy23 if you had 1 million in the kitty who do you get Klemmer or Cleary?

I personally belive your forward pack is the most important part of your squad, they hold so much importance in your team!

It's extremely hard to win a game of Rugby League when you're losing the ruck

Warriors spine is the best in the NRL and they're scraping the 8

Eels as much as I hate Moses, Gutherson, Norman and Hayne they're favourites to win the spoon

Manly have Turbo, DCE and Korosau and they're shocking

I'll reframe your question Eddie…. if I had a million dollars and had the option of Cleary and Tamololou?

I'd pick Tamololou 10 times out of 10

Get Cleary first and watch the others follow him.
