Nathan Merrit

Merritt has run his race..been selected so the political process has been done .A matter of cleaning the deck now for game 3\. Should never of been selected ..now select a player that is of origin standard.

Played 2 games for NSW last night his first and last. His defence is nowhere near good enough for that level, something many of us have said for years and years. I still remember TNT scoring a hatrick against him by running straight over him. Koro also run straight over him this year. Once again the NSW selectors have no idea.

He was woeful.

Putting one handers down for your club on the back of monster forward pack and roll on is alot different.
Dugan to replace if he can play wing otherwise hayne.

So, a player is instructed to jam in, which is silly to do on GI, but experts on here blame the player for doing so? It's probably why none of you are coaches…

I honestly doubt Daley told him to do it. I know he said he did but I think he's just taking the fall for Merritt.

Merritt was chosen with the heart not the head - a massive mistake for Origin!

One the biggest differences between the sides last night was how much better Qld defended to the sides of the ruck - they have a very effective slide-and-up style whereas we only have the regulation up and in…

They play good night weather defense. Get off the line quick and slide in defense towards the sideline. They do it as a unit. We had Merritt jumping out of the line of defense and it gifted them opportunities which they took.

I think Merritt deserved an opportunity with his good club form for a while. Whether he deserves an opportunity to play better after last nights performance, I don't know.

At least now every Souths fan and sook can stop trying to make his non selection about race.

He is not up to that level. It is just the facts of it

"I'm not too sure what it is, maybe it's a Souths thing or it's a racial thing
"They don't like indigenous players coming through the representative ranks."
-Nathan Merritt.

Stamp the muppet's card Never Again

Where did he say that? Is that a direct quote?

Who would you have chosen instead of Merritt? The other wingers in the frame, Uate and (?), have highly noticeable flaws as well and are just as useless.

Personally Tafua was a much better alternative.

The best idea would have been playing a Morris on each wing and bringing in Idris

haha, FMD, his D is just as turnstile like under pressure…in fact, a lot of NRL wingers would have struggled with that last night.
