Here's a question.
I don't know anything really about Go's ability or role inside the club. Her business credentials mean diddly-squat to me, I can't judge her from the stands.
However I do get the strong impression, any time she speaks to the media, that she doesn't really know what she is talking about. She may indeed know what she is talking about, but as a Joe Nobody watching from the crowd, she talks and what I hear is "I don't really have much idea at all about how a successful football club is run, here is some management-speak: process, KPI, success, organisation, consult, commitment, performances, plan."
Watching the presser yesterday, it seemed evident to me that Pascoe was absolutely on top of the message and how he would field questions, and Go was absolutely waiting for Pascoe to intercept all of those questions.
Given that there is every chance that I am wrong about this impression of Marina Go, is it my fault that I feel this way, or is it somewhat her fault for not instilling confidence in the supporter base? Does she even need the support of the supporter base?
It's definitely not a woman-thing, I work in an industry dominated by senior women and it's never been a problem for me. I am honestly happy to hear a knowledgeable woman talk about football, actually more than that, I am eager to hear from such an individual.
I get the impression that many people who query whether or not Go can do her job properly have this same impression, that she just doesn't appear that confident about what she is saying.
