New coach.. Who should we target?

If you join the dots it all points to Cleary moving on in 2020\. Riff appointed there rookie coach for one season, Bennett has one year to go at the Bronks.

It could work, but the new coach would have to be announced basically now so his recruitment people can get active for the 2020 season. I guess our recruitment for 2019 could take a hit and would the players drop a little in motivation for the 2019 season

IC gets back to Penrith and the day after he signs Penrith get found to be rorting the cap and the only player any club is interested in is Nathan Cleary and is sold off to another club
 
This is all going to happen in the coming weeks, and always was….its no coincidence penrith haven't appointed a coach for next year....when a coach is sacked a permanent replacement is appointed immediately...we,d be fools not to believe the deal for Cleary at penrith 2019 wasn't done months ago

Getting him earlier will depend on how desperate the Broncos are in securing the next coach. If Siebold re-signs before November than Madge could be a big play for them which they would want to happen sooner than later…

2020 does not sound good to me at all.
Madge or Bennett have to be for 2019\. Both are good (I'd have Bennett though).
Main thing is if Cleary is still here for pre-season it's a massive fail IMO.
 
With memberships going on sale and roll over ect this is a critical time for the club ,there will have to be a statement of something of note soon as this coaching drama could well effect memberships something the club does not need.

Sounds good except for Lodge.
 
Bennett and Madge are all better than Cleary.
It's a no brainer. Punt Cleary whilst relieving Gould of some cash and sign one of the above and before pre season training.

Rip the bandaid off.
 
I'm sure the club are at work. If Ivan does indeed want out and is on the nose I have faith that Pascoe and the board are working toward a settlement with him and Penrith and will have a capable successor in place.

There's no point in letting Ivan walk without a better candidate to walk in.

Bennett has somewhat lost his gloss but he has still only missed the finals what four times in his whole career over 32 seasons?
 
Good to see we have coaches that are interested who have won comps unlike Ivan. He is a modern day Brian Smith. Might get us to finals but won’t win a comp.

Why do the media always run to the grub for a comment.
They should ask him how much money he ripped off Balmain over the Re-development of the old club.

I'm ex Balmain and grewup cheering him on but can't stand looking at him or hearing comments he makes

Just a small question about Bennett's success at the Bronks.
He had nearly a full squad of SOO and Australian players at his beck and call and still managed only 6 titles with them.
I think Happy could have managed that many, with the players he had.
 
Don't really care who we appoint. Just want someone with a plan. not short term at least a 20 year plan. last few coaches have all been 3 to 5 years. obviously doesn't work that way. blood the best under 10s we can get and by 2038 we should rock this comp.

Release the bus driver now to Penrith and get a huge payout from Gus for doing so.
Bring on Bennett as our head coach in 2019 for 3 years till 2021
He will attract some good players during this period.
Bring on the assistant coach from Melbourne to be Wayne right hand man for the next 3 years and eventually take over as Head Coach from 2022.
Promote Wayne as head of football from 2022.

No way I would have signed Milford or Bird mate for starters and wouldn't have let Arrow go

The only thing stopping Arrow was his lack of minutes at Brisbane

Sounds way too logical, sensible, proactive and deliberate to be of any use to us!
 
I think Bennett would be a very good signing for us
He would have a better ability at bringing quality players to our club then Cleary that's for sure
Many say that with the rosters he has had to work with he should win comps
Well that's true but dont forget he bought many players to the clubs he has been at
I hope he signs on and brings a few players with him
Wayne will have a huge desire to prove his knockers wrong
On top of that he is the most experienced coach in the History of rugby league
We would be silly not to have a very serious look at Wayne
He is a much better coach than Cleary and he has the premierships to prove it

So it's a yes from me

Now can we get Ivan to do a lap of honour when he departs from the Tigers
I am sure a few people should like to show their appreciation
Might be a good way to get the crowd numbers up
 
I can understand people being upset with how Cleary has handled the situation, but it’s humourous to see peope who would have taken a bullet for him 3 months ago all of a sudden saying he can’t coach. That’s called bitterness.
