Seen a snippet of Jimmy the Jet training with the boys on the news, so he’s definitely there already just can’t seem to find him in a photo

I heard he's doing 3 days a week with them at the moment. Not sure why, perhaps he's got some counselling sessions or the like on the other days to help him out.

There’s also this guy on the left I don’t recognise although he looks familiar and a few others I’ve just seen snippets of on people’s Instagram stories.

Bloody hell offo and stefano r units

I looked at the heights and weights in player profiles,we have a big side.Going through our middle defence will no longer be easy for attacking forwards.

Big pack doesn't mean they can tackle ....if anything they tire quicker and get caught out laterally

Well except for the fact that Tamou, Twal and Mikaele all had a tackle efficiency 95% last season...

Mikalele was god damn dismal in defence last year . It’s not a missed tackle if you don’t make an attempt in the first place . He needs to lift big time or he will be in the plane back to the goldy at years end I think .

Right...how many times did that actually happen?

Wiff da Twuth gone, dat would make Twal our slowest moving forward … ??

Do you remember the last game at Cambo in 2018 against Manly where Twal set up a try ?

He was standing on the right edge when he got the ball, fended off a poor attempt at tackle and ran around 40 metres, stepped inside Turbo Tom, who came again to tackle him. Twal passed to somebody to score.

It was one of the most memorable moments of a disappointing season. He showed some toe that day.

A lot . Especially close to the line . Watch how many tries were scored in our middle third , when he was on the field . It’s a big reason why we bled a lot of points either side of halftime , coincidentally when he was on the field . He was lazy laterally and soft in his contact . I’m not bagging him , just stating facts . I was really disappointed in him , as I thought if he played well he would have pushed for Qld origin, based on his previous year .

I’m really glad that the club has finally embraced one of their IMO unique attributes. That it really cares about the players , sometimes to the detriment of the club ie. paying a junior mass overs .
Getting a lot indigenous and islander , I guess for lack of a better word , counsellors , around the club , will just double down on this in coming years . We can’t ever create a team that naturally engages “the mob” as well as Souths or Qld teams due to legacy , and communities . Yet we definitely can let it known to the world , that whilst we are tough and have high standards we genuinely give a toss about you , and it’s not just for show .
I would have hoped with the tragedy of fotuika , we may have got there a bit sooner , but better late than never.

I believe Mikaele played majority of last year with a bung knee. Can’t remember which game it was, but it was early in the season and he wasn’t the same player since

I’ll believe that , as your right he wasn’t the same player . I hope he returns to the beast he was at the end of last year. Like I said , I had real high hopes for him l and I personally think he could be a truely great front rower , which is why I was so bitterly disappointed with him this year .

Mikaele made at least two try savers one on one defending the line.

Yeah one of those was in the Manly game.
He looked to be hampered down by injury. Mbye, Grant, Twal and Doueihi appeared to be the same throughout the year but thought it wasn't just the WT and that most teams looked a bit worse for wear - after the season recommencement.

I know .. that's what makes our forward pack scary .. !! I'm excited .. 🙂

Lets embrace the changes both with Players and coaching team.
I see a lot of happy faces at training which means they all fitting in well together. Agree much bigger forward pack this year and some genuine competition for spots.

Brooks will have nil excuses now either with Benji gone and some size that should go forward, which seems our issue past seasons lacking genuine go forward unless a dart from dummy half.

Train hard and lets see some photos with genuine pain putting in the hard yards.

Madge has been impressed with the agility and size of young forward Mavoni Tuifua .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV-4D3RnARo

Also impressing is young Michael Tannous .. good to hear that the young fellows are busting a gut at pre season training .. nothing like showing the boss what you got .. never hurts .. !!

It’s not just his size that impresses, it’s his work rate...can nail a short ball aswell

He looks a fine prospect. Kudos to the opposition putting their bodies in front of the big feller! He is a monster.

Interested to see if any of these guys can impress enough to earn a development contract or even a top 30 spot. Definitely some talent there for sure

It's crazy how many times this video does the rounds. A flegg pre season trial from two years ago against a team full of triallists .. it means nothing.
He's a good prospect but needs a more recent video

Agreed big difference running into those kids as opposed to blokes like Weara-Hargraves, Asofa-Solomona, Papalli and co
