New forwards needed for 2019

I am not sure how Cleary is going to do it but he needs to off load a few big contracts who probably have zero demand

We are still the nrl’s nursing home .
 
When you look at the off contract players, there are not a lot of standouts. The pickings are fairly bare. We missed the boat last season when almost had timed themselves to get off contract to coincide with the new TV deal.

We had basically a whole cap & we bought duds. Would have been better off paying big overs to get a star player rather than big money for blokes like Matulino, Packer, Reynolds.

Twal was just as bad with his stats.

Has anyone thought about the fact our issue could be we don’t use forwards probably? We’re always getting our outside backs to make hit ups instead of using our forwards effectively.
 
With around 20 to go when we were still in the game and needed someone to lift us our forwards were walking back. Lucky to be ready to take a hit up by play 4\. Definitely need new blood in the pack. (Except Twal)

It was a very poor performance from our forwards in such an important game. Lawrence was good apart from his goal line defense, otherwise a sick and sorry lot.

I am also not sure how Cleary is going to do that as he is the one who signed or re-signed these guys long term to big contracts…

Packer Matulino and Reynolds are here to stay..

Not sure it's a good look either for potential quality recruits if you are dumping those recruited to bring change only to dump them shortly after...
 
Watched yesterday's match with the view behind the goal line defence in the first half and it was easy to see we were being smashed up front and in the 2nd was not going to be better unless the coast forwards were going to fall over .
Line speed poor ,intent poor.Always on the back foot.
Our Forwards need to learn to run hard and straight and of course hold the ball
Brooks had no chance with those forwards in front on him
Backs excluding Naiqama and Mbye were poor as well.Even if they held onto the ball they have no thrust .
Aloiai last year was one our better forwards but this year is below average
Sue is poor
Lawrence 100/100 for effort but to small for back row
Eisenhuth needs a little stint in reserves
Packer must be injured because he is better than that
Taylor smashed by bigger bodies
 
I’ve only watched the game live and haven’t had a chance to look at it closely. Did McQueen only play 20 minutes? If so, why?

Maybe bit longer. Then not used again. No word on injury. If not injured persume coach not happy with him

More execuses for brooks.

Forwards were mixed back let in 3 soft tries on line then held out straight sets in the second half b4 c.v penalty goal.

Cannot figure forwards not getting more meters. Yes possession a tackle count has something yo do with it but more to it than that
 
We could go for Napa, Soliola or Mariner next year. Mariner averages 108 meters in 50 minutes, Soliola averages 87 meters in 40 minutes and Napa averages 85 meters in 30 minutes.
 
soliola has just resigned with raiders. dogs stated that mariner was going no where. and the roooters will keep napa on 100,000 per year plus brown paper bags.
