New General Manager of Football

Mark O'Neill was removed for some unsavory behaviour in the backroom wasn't he? Highly doubt he'll be back.

Farah was talked about as GM/HOF at the outset of the Sheens-Marshall idea. At least, in a learning capacity.

The joint venture has 2 FM/HOF in-house operators right now- Shannan Gallant (Wests) & Paul Sironen (Balmain). Sironen, with his years of football experience, working alongside Farah for a year...or Gallant/Farah.

I think it's most important that the HC & the HOF/GM/FM are moving toward the same goal & have the same values. Too many mixed messages coming out of Wests Tigers for too long. Time to grow a culture based on the standards the club needs to hold closest.

I heard on triple m about a month ago Sironen is leaving and moving up the north coast.
 
It would be a horrible decision to put Farah in this role and I think almost everyone knows this.

However, most people knew bringing in a coach 10 years out of the NRL was a bad decision except WT management. Similarly, letting Hastings go and expecting Brooks to be a controlling 7.

We should get rid of the decision makers before deciding on a GM.

Robbie Move to job where he wants to ( Head Of Football )

Just don’t know why morris would want it, seems like he actually knows what he’s doing. Coming to wests is a fast track to killing your career. I reckon another year of failure at the doggies and they might be looking for a FG coach
 
My issue with John Morris is that he would be looking for a full time 1st grade coach gig. Do we REALLY want Benji, in his first full year, with a guy that could easily step in & replace him as his #2?

Better off with Furner, Brett Hodgson & Anthony Griffen- respected coaches that don't put pressure on Benji's hold of the role.
 
The perceived professionalism of the club by fans is amusing.
Some just said “let Benji be head coach, he’ll be good”. Others said “let Robbie be GM of Football, he’ll do fine”.
This isn’t make a wish foundation. How about we hire experienced, qualified professionals?

We can’t as they don’t want to come near the place with our current CEO. , Chairman and inept Board ,

Yeah some truth in that.
It would be nice to know why Sheens wasn’t considered for the Head of Football role. Especially as that was part of this 5 year plan.

Benji and Robbie think because they're amongst our best players, They can do what ever they feel like doing at this club.
They did it as players, Now they're doing it in retirement.

They're dead set kidding - They're actually taking the P*ss

Be like me saying I can engineer the the harbour bridge design because I've swung a hammer or can slap a coat of jam on most things.

There's Football people out there that can actually do Football jobs....

Looking at things a different way, I wonder whether John Morris could be a candidate for GM of Football. With alignment in pathways (NRL, Cup, Flegg, SG, Matts) crucial I reckon for this role, he does bring good experience and regards in development. Obviously depends on his coaching aspirations.
