New injuries!

Well the injury tally increases once more with:

Lawrence: hamstring
Moltzen: suspected ACL
Aysh: suspected broken leg

All looking at long term stints on the sidelines. Absolutely gut wrenching to see so many regular first graders down.

But i guess its more chance to blood some more Youngsters…

Koro is back next week. Reddy to centre with Simona or Brien promoted or Thompson on the other. Utai goes to the other side I suppose.

You cant promote too many kids at the same time. They will be bashed and cop their own long termers or they will have their confidence shattered. This is a dire situation.

We haven't got much choice but to bring some youngsters up , this is unbelievable .
What about when Origin come around no Woods or Farrah this is gonna be a very long season

Not sure I agree with this. The two teams to handle transition periods the best in the past ten years have been the Broncos and the Storm and they both did it quickly by promoting their youngsters ahead of ageing players.

1\. Moltzen
2\. Koirobete
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuquiri
6\. Marshall
7\. Anasta

That's a pretty workable backline and halves pairing if any of them were available. I wonder what percentage of our salary cap we're spending for these guys to go to physio.

Was speaking with Cuzzo during the game as he was sitting in front of me. This is what he said about each injury (after returning from the sheds each time)

Lawrence: Hamstring (scans Monday). Unsure of how bad.
Moltzen: ACL, same knee as last time. Gone for season.
Ayshford: Suspected broken leg, mentioned ankle, scans tomorrow or Monday.

Also in good news Koro will be back next week, however Benji is unlikely, as they will not rush him back before he is ready.

The new injuries are bad news of course, and is sad to see Moltzen go down just when he was given an opportunity. But I reckon we have the young blokes to fill in, they can't do much worse than the blokes they will be replacing. They might even do better

Look I hope no one is making excuses for the Tigers tonight with injuries

In the end that was a winnable game even after the shocking first 30 minutes

We have been forced into the future probably and lets see if whoever the club chooses can crack it

If not we can let them go

One thing I can guarantee ,Potter won't have the side named by 11.00am Tuesday

a lot on here been calling to drop those 3 players. guess their voodoo dolls worked tonight.

Haha, yes true and those same blokes that were calling for their heads will no doubt start sticking pins in someone new.

SO next week we are looking at

Tedesco
Koroibete
Reddy
Simona
Utai
Sironen
Miller

JESUS….until you pointed it out i didnt realise how inexperienced our line will be....

What's that, 50 games in the ENTIRE line besides utai?

Taking into account the dire situation we are in with the terrible shortage of experienced players is there any likelihood that the club will fully explore the availability of players they can sign for THIS year before the June 30 deadline?

A great opportunity for some of those guys to cement a 1st grade spot for a few weeks, possibly months.

I don't think so Newtown ,unless we could get a player on a longish term deal I can't see the use

Our chances of making the Top 8 are probably almost non existant and we could learn a lot about our fringe first graders in the mean time

Bad luck for the players involved. Never nice seeing bad injuries. However we won't be any worse without them. We won't win games without them in our current state but we won't be any worse off performance wise.

3\. Reddy
4\. Simona
7\. Miller

They won't do any worse. The first half was realiy bad tonight.

I dont think the first half was inherently 'bad' it was just extraordinarly ILLdisciplined and a couple of errors that occurred at bad times.

we need to fix up our discipline ASAP. it is costing us games and territory.
