That’s what we have to be careful that we don’t turn the NRL into.

It’s almost there .

Yeah I know. I don’t mind then trialling new rules, except if it helps the Broncos avoid the spoon. But we must be careful not to go too far.

I don’t know of any other sport which the rules are changed constantly as much as NRL ...
It’s Farcical

Trouble is the NRL stuffed it up for so long, changes had to be made. The clubs & coaches had too much say. They just need to make sure they don’t go in the other direction.

The wrestle had to go for sure but the six again ruling is too much of a momentum advantage compared to a penalty been given away .
At least when a team gave away a penalty they were informed why the penalty was given . With the six again ruling there is no accountability on the refs ..
I’m not a fan at all .

Yeah I hate the six again rulings. It comes across as an easy way for the refs to dictate who will win the game.

I have to admit I am a fan of the six again rule. I’ve watch almost every game since it’s return. Enjoyed most of them, something I haven’t done for a very long time. Certainly there needs to be improvements in consistency on how it is applied but overall it gets a pass from me.

We’ll have to disagree on this one lol

What I did like about the six again rule, was towards the start of the season after they had brought it in, someone in the crowd had some sort of siren thing which made the same noise as the NRL play when a six again is awarded. It sounded just like it, watching through the telly, and I have to admit, that was funny.

Scrums are a farce, but they still have a role to play in our game. By tying up twelve players in a scrum it allows attacking teams to put on set plays. I think that still has some value in our game. Although, to be honest, I'd prefer to go back to fully contested scrums.

I've never been a fan of send offs or sin bins. Quickest way for a referee to determine the outcome of a game. Even worse when the referee plainly gets it wrong. I think the sin bin still needs to be there for repeated breaches and professional fouls, but for foul play infringements the penalty can come after the match by way of the match review panel.

Frankly, I hate paying good money to go and see a football match and then have the referee ruin it by sending someone to the sin bin, during which the other team runs in 2 or 3 tries. it's just not a necessary part of the game.

If you award "six again" against players who do not retire 10 metres to the point set by the referee this could be a catastrophe for some teams.

e.g. If Souffs and the Pamfers are in games where they commence the game with a kick-off then it is more than probable they will not get the ball for the entire 40 minutes. After half time when they get to their fifth tackle and give the ball back to the opposition - that could be the last time they hold the ball for the second half.

Seriously, the game will be too quick adding this to "six again" - virtually changing rules to overcome the incompetent decisions of the referees. Plus adding even more ammunition for the referees to rort the lower / out of favour teams in the comp.

If they keep changing the rules any resemblance to the game of Rugby League will be gone - it is already becoming a 13 a side version of the 9's. Everyone agrees that it is the Greatest Game of All, but the way it is going is not good.

Maybe Rugba Leeg is now the NRL's version of the game we loved so much - hopefully they will stop the change for change sake.

It will be interesting to see the speed State Of Origin it’s played at as the game has already surpassed that .
Bring back the 80’s

While we're asking forwards to pack down, can they can the second row feed?

Dream on

More 6 agains, gross. They’re already the worst part of the game, given way more then penalties often for no real reason. Strong teams happy to give them away early in sets and that will happen even more if they’re given instead of offsides especially when trying to pin teams in their own 20.

They’re extremely subjective and majorly differ with every single ref and add major inconsistency to the game. I hope it’s abolished completely

We need SOME penalties in the game don’t get the obsession to get rid of them completely

In my very early teens I played a couple of grades above my age as hooker (yes we are talking mid last century lol). A real contest for the ball is a part of the scrum that I really miss in the modern game.

But yeah it will probably never return.

Nah, never wore headgear. Which is probably why I turned out so ugly.

Handover for kicks into touch rather than a scrum.

This is an interesting one. Means a team can’t kick it into touch to give your team a rest. Not sure what I think of that.

PVL is obsessed with having literally no stoppages in the game. There has to be something to give the players a break he’s going stupidly over the top with it.
