After the last few years you would swear that our medical/s&c team made the players sniff the fart bubbles in a bath tub as a medical remedy and performed ancient pig sacrifices to quicken the rehab progress. They were useless and you could question their medical certificates. A welcome addition.

Thanks for your support Jerry. Very sweet of you. Now boys let's just move on from this shall we? :bulb:

Good grief, a Tigermama and Jerry Seinfeld love-in. The forum's hit new lows.

Talk about S & C please not 'Days of our Lives'…. :unamused:

I had been wondering the same thing myself re Changes Happy...I think the answer is.....????? but that's past now move forward Fresh start...New Ideas

After reading several posts and commenting on the subject myself,I have come to the conclusion that many questions have been asked and answered with varying points of view…

For me,the Wests Tigers have now been given an extraordinary opportunity to be the stable and professionally run club that others will envy in the future.

There have been many changes, from Management restructure to playing group S&C and coaching.

Wests Tigers are heading into a new era...A SUCCESSFUL one, somethings that have needed to be done for several years are getting done,we now have a great platform to take us to the next level of success ...

We will no longer be known as the rabble we once were, but a highly motivated and confident NRL club which others will want to learn from.

Having said my piece,I think we all must be patient and let things fall into place, there will be ups and downs ,wins and losses, however we the Wests Tigers are becoming much stronger on the field and off it.

Let's All Look To A Great Future,2015 and beyond...  :sign:

Lol… it's all about how one perceives it LCA. Nothing wrong with some playful banter when expressing our opinion or agree with our fellow members. It doesn't all have to be serious does it now?

Agree TT. With all the positive changes that are happening , 2015 and beyond, will be very good years for our club. Here's hopping! (Fingers crossed too)

Another very encouraging step in the right direction. As much as I love Skando as a player and wonderful clubman, we really need a new set of eyes in a critical area of the clubs preparation for 2015\. Its no coincidence that injuries plague us year after year ….... lets hope this new appointment goes some way to reducing some of the time our players spend on the sidelines.

Seriously mate, how else can you explain the amount of injuries over the last few years? The S&C/rehab units were atrocious.

The bloke who updated the injury list on the Tigers website would've needed a full time job.

I imagine the Tigers Med staff adapted Bear Grylls like medical practices. We probably made casts out of gaffa tape and secured it with cable ties.

Hopefully we start seeing players return on expected return dates instead of 2 months after. Hopefully we stop seeing recurring injuries that aren't properly managed.

And hopefully Sheens and Royce are given full time positions to move the gym around to ensure players are sharp as a tac.

Not arguing Tye. I'm actually a stauch supporter of your viewpoint.

A great (albeit sarcastic,) analysis of the situation.

Lol you have to have a good sense of humour and plenty of sarcasm being a Tigers supporter. Problems a common man could see within the club, our management has not for years on end. I just hope the word "professional" that the club is dragging around at the moment sticks and we can become a strong club from the top down leading into the future.

i think you missed my point.. im just saying not to get the hopes up in regards to that. tbh, most of our first grade injuries haven't been due to S&C but mainly bad luck. im not too sure about the lower grade injuries though and since smith wants to overhaul the entire system- it could work wonders. however, if bad luck persists, then i hope we dont get a 'sack keegan smith' thread going on.

I think you are grossly underestimating the effect of Strength and Conditioning has on a professional sports team. The more you can field your best team the more you will win.

What we experienced over the last few years is not just bad luck, 2 years in a row of having points where we borderline struggled to field 17 players goes against all the odds. It comes down to the people employed to do that job being unsatisfactory. When it comes to injury prevention and injury management/recovery we have been a long way behind.
That should all change now that we are employing professionals rather than guys who have a Certificate 2 from TAFE.

A bit like our out-patients . Our expert dietitian advises them on nutrition and gives them a diet plan to follow. Our well qualified phisio also gives them exersises to do that will help and strengthen their bodies. The two combined will speed the recovery process if the patients follow it through. Our team will be much better off, with Keegan in charge.

im not saying S&C is useless, im thinking of doing a trainer course myself next year and am studying physio atm as well

Well, I take your point, but how do you interpret "serious"? My original post was just questioning whether you were more interested in the "eye candy" impact of Smith or his genuine credentials as someone who can benefit the team?

Should I just say that Marina Go will be a great leader because she's a hottie? Even if I believed it?

You could find any number of guys who are as "hot" as Smith by just cruising Oxford St on a Saturday night.

But, does that qualify them for adulation here as some great step forward for Wests Tigers? I wouldn't think so.

Merit is performance-based. Not appearance -based. It's a shallow a measure as judging all WT forum punters by the innane offerings of Jerry Seinfeld.
