Newcastle 2012

Just remember that St.George Illawarra weren't going all that well before Bennett went there and then when he went there they won a premiership and 2 minor premierships in 2 years with close to the same side.

They will be premiership contenders with Bennett and Tinkler taking over. Players will want to go to the Knights because Bennett is there and **Tinkler will have the cash.**

He can only spend the salary cap + 3rd party.

Just because he's a billionaire doesn't mean he doesn't have to play by the same rules as every other club.

Just heard on Triple M Grill Team on way to work that Ennis has clause in contract to leave and go to Newcastle if Bennett coaches the Knights….pretty weird clause if u ask me, must be the link he had with him at the Broncos.

Gotta feel for De Gois if that clown gets in over him.

Also read on today's Herald that Ennis is a Knights junior and will be there. Adds weight to what you heard on the grill team.

Enis Just signed and was touted as a Future Dogs Captain. Who would insert a clause like that thats Silly.

Ps Wasnt it Bennett that let him go from the broncos as he was causing unrest and complications amongst the club.

Good luck to him, Ennis belongs at a club full of junkies and clowns like Newcastle. Should feel right at home there.

That doesn't sound true to me.
Bit ridiculous really, be surprised to see Ennis come to Newc,
Word on the street is, after all the drug allegations and so on they are trying to rebuild the culture of the club… I don't think some one like Ennis is going to improve the image, lol.

As much as I can't stand the guy on the field, I've heard and seen in practice that he is a gentleman, and ambassador for the game off of the playing field - and the thing is, he doesn't need to pat himself on the back or publicize his good off field behavior like some other players feel they need to.

I agree somewhat, apparently the guy is a pretty nice fella off the field and a real family man.
Not sure about your last sentence though, I remember with the QLD floods he posted his own article in the Telecrap talking about the work he has done for the flood victims, I remember it came out just before the all stars side was selected and I felt that maybe he did that article to get himself over the line for the all stars side because he was out of contention initially.

He comes off as being a pretty decent guy to me too Underdog.

true, but they might not have been spending up to the cap limit before and there are alot of other expenses outside of the salary cap to help the team

They probably wont actually spend much more money then they have in previous years but as Alien said they will be able to attract a much higher quality of player now with Bennett as the coach.

Slurp slurp @ Ennis is a good bloke… tzzt.
Believe it when I see it (RE: him @ the knights)
Very hypocritical on his behalf if he makes that move.

Just listening to Knights acting CEO on 2SM, they have a new membership drive, towards 10000 or something, you can get a reserved stand seat for their remaining 10 home games for $85 - members already signed up before these new deals will get a rare limited edition special knights jersey.
They look after their members.
We offer memberships again if & when we make the semis
Top it Harry deep pockets!

Naiqama is off contract and has a history of screwing up off the field. He's not someone I think Wayne Bennett would want to keep. McManus is a much safer player and much more stable off the field.

I wouldn't be surprised if Beau Henry gets the chop, Bennett let him go from the Saints which is how he ended up at the Knights in the first place.

Beau henry left for a opportunity to play first grade and newcastle put a better offer i dont think it had much to do with bennett not wanting him.

Bennett never goes to a club empty handed so im expecting he lets go of 5 or 6 players but if they dont this year it will be 2013 .

Newcastle has just release Beau Henry to the Titans for the remainder of the year…

This kid has alot of potential and could provide the perfect foil for Scott Prince. I'm tipping the Titans might win a few more games this year now!

Henry looked like a decent player at the start of the yr,but since he's come back from injury he's been nothing but rubbish
