For the first time ever they will be using Video Reffs in State Cup. Steve Clark and Phil Cooley are doing this game.

I honestly prefer the two in goal touchies as it allows a better flowing game

Yeah. Class act though. Could have played with injections but it was a massive risk long term and he supports his family and took the safer option

Jeez they won't miss him much though will they. That is a stacked backline. Kheirallah and Latu can't even get a start! It'll be a tough ask.

Dangerous backline, good forwards - they're a big change. Be a great reward for Scott Meaney if BRET can get the win.

What a great Finale to the NSW Cup, both sides being feeder teams to clubs wracked in turmoil and both clubs punting their coaches, what a time to impress the incoming coach.
Both sides were the 7th & the 8th qualifier but by sheer guts and determination made the decider, still GO Balmain!.

Balmain Ryde Eastwood Coach Paul Fletcher was delighted with Sunday’s 26-24 Preliminary Final win over the Newcastle Knights but said that the job was not done yet.
Fletcher’s side finished in eighth spot on the ladder coming into the finals and since then have had wins over the Windsor Wolves, Wentworth Magpies and the Knights.
They now face the Newtown Jets in next Sunday’s NSW Cup Grand Final at ANZ Stadium.
After Sunday’s thrilling win, Coach Fletcher reminded his side that there was still one more big game to play.
“Before we sung the team song I said to the guys that I didn’t want them to play the game (Grand final) in their heads because mentally that can drain you,” he said.
“Next Sunday will be here before we know it so we just need to relax and go about our business. We’ll do everything the same as normal. I won’t change anything at all. Same training days, same training times and hopefully we’ll get the right result on Sunday.”
Fletcher signalled out front row forward Ray Cashmere as one his stand out performers on Sunday but admitted that the last few weeks can be put down to every player giving 100% for the team.
“The group has come together really well. It’s a hard grade because as everyone knows, people are coming in and out. I think we’ve used 43 players this year so it’s been a great effort by everybody,” said Fletcher.
“Everyone that has contributed, every player that has played a minute or has played every minute. You can just see the difference now from being together constantly. Everyone is turning up for each other.”
The Tigers have played the Newton Jets twice already this season, for one win apiece.

i know i ask alot of questions about this but i notice the past few weeks Grant hasnt been played, i know he had a shoulder injury but wouldnt it be healed by now? and does anyone know his future with the club

I honestly thought the winner of the Knights v BRET game would go on and win the lot

C'mon BRET step it up one more week and win the whole dam shebang

Would be a magnificent effort if they could

Would like to add , hope the Magpie fans get behind the BRET boys as well

Remember we are one club :sign:

Good luck to Balmain in what will certainly be a very tough Newtown side to overcome. Plenty of size and speed among that lineup and Balmain will certainly need to bring their A-game if they're to win this one. Hopefully they're up for it.

Can somebody a Moderator perhaps edit the Title of this post, WE ARE BALMAIN, the BALMAIN TIGERS!.

Pretty sure the team is formally known as Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers since 2006

Don't think funding partners Ryde-Eastwood leagues club would like to be wiped out of any recognition.
