Next 2 games are crucial for Jason Taylor

Today pushed me strongly into one camp on where we are heading under Taylor.

Under tough conditions we got bullied by the team coming 2nd last.

They had attitude, body language, aggression and intent.

We looked disinterested unless we were throwing the ball around.

18 months in and That was as bad a loss as i have seen from a team near full strength (We dint even have the regular blame guy Farah there today to cop the hiding)

To me this team is going no where under Taylor.

According to Marina Go in an article Inread duringnthenweek, Taylor will be coaching in 2017 and I doubt the club has the cash for otherwise. I can't get over enthused about our blokes making the 8 they are so disappointing at times, today for example. The day we beat Easts will be a good indicator that our team is going good.

I get the impression that when we are without Farah our defence seems more ragged up the middle, there is often confusion, panic and improvising.

I agree. Our defence looks best when both Taylor and Farah are playing. It's still shit at the edges, particularly the right side, but I'm starting to wonder if the coach is directing the players to defend so compressed around the middle.

Petition to get rid of Jason Taylor

IM still no clearer to saying confidently we are improving as a side. We have had a decent enough period with 4 wins from 7 however the losses have all been conceded 29 + points.

Whilst today was not a big cross, a 9 point loss to Melbourne in Melbourne is no disgrace by any means. However the stuff we did well, was the flashy stuff when the pressure was off. Something we used to do well under Sheens.

However we still have the 2nd worst defence in the competition. This is something 18 months in to Taylors reign i was expecting to see some tangible improvement in given his focus on it.

We still find ourselves below some pretty average squads like Saints, Canberra, Titans in the Top 8 dog fight.

Im not saying its time to blame the coach and get rid of him. We have managed to be pretty competitive this season with a roster that is mid table at best.

Like Tayor said himself a few times the past month, The time for excuses are over. We have talent in this club and we need to move up the ladder. We are not a terrible roster. Especially with ET as a great mid season signing. The Top 8 is there for the taking this year given it is effectively a Top 9\. However we are still wallowing just above the bottom 4.
