We're expected to lose and it's a game against the best team in the comp.

So i'm pretty sure every one of our 17 will turn up to play, we'll have an absolute cracker of a game and we'll beat them quite comfortably.

About a 3000000 % improvement for starters just to be competitive . Will see who is fit for this clash . If Ellis and Tuqiri are back we have some hope but if Lui does not fire forget about it .

I'll go with that.
Best post Ive read for some time.

Sheens on 2UE says Lote won't be back, needs another week to get fitness back up to scratch.

Maybe Ellis, but even then, we weren't dominated by forwards tonight. Our playmakers sucked. Thats our issue and I think the Dragons will make us lift.

MM, with the way we played against an understrength penriff outfit, I reckon the dragons won't even need their rep players back to beat us.

Tigers coach Tim Sheens slammed his team's lacklustre performance and revealed that he didn't allow the players to sing the club's victory song after the match.

"For us to win the game, we got away with it (but) St George will lap us by 100 (next weekend) if we play like that," Sheens said in an almighty post-match spray.

"I'm not really happy with them, and they know it, and they're not happy with themselves.

^^^This is the reason we will win, IF we win^^^

If we win - 3 key reasons
1\. Dragons have players backing up
2\. Sheens going off all week
3\. Its a day game - if you check the stats it makes a huge difference to our club (unlike most clubs)

Also becuase we are one of the only teams in the comp who if all sides are at full strength could actually beat the dragons (alongside perhaps Melbourne and mayby wierdly Raiders)

I didn't say we'd win if their 8 origin players don't back up, I said we'd be in with a shot.

The dragons are beyond us imo.

They're too well drilled. Everytime we score a try I feel as though it's a lucky play.

Whereas the dragons can manufacture tries when they need to.

I know that's what you said, I was making the point that an understrength Dragons outfit would be far superior to Penriff and we will still probably get touched up.

The biggest difference between the two sides is patience. The Dragons focus on completing their sets, getting to their kick/chase and let their defence do the talking. They are clinically well drilled and do not deviate from their gameplan.

For these reasons above, they have an advantage over the Tigers. On their day the Tigers can beat anyone, but 80 minute performances from the Tigers are not common, and with the way they are playing at the moment…I just cannot see them putting a dent in the Dragons. I'd love them to win, I'd love them to get close and give them a real test, but watching them at the moment, it's hard to see how they can turn things around so dramatically against a side that rarely plays poorly.

dragons are due for a loss.
wests-tigers are due to beat them.

we saw how the sharks actually "physically beat them" in the forwards
do the same.
don't care if it turns real ugly and alot of blood is spilt.

they are not immortal, or machines, they bleed, feel pain and if you annoy them a real lot they won't concentrate on footy just go looking for revenge. Beau Scott is an example.

make them realise that when they play wests-tigers they are going to be hurting, bruised and battered, stitches n their heads for some days after the game.

get in there, tear them apart, play like wests-TIGERS, not concord/campbelltown cubs.

i like this post. cmon boys, FIRE UP. we can do this! lets show the dragons theyre not as good as they think they r, and lets show everyone else that we're better than what they think we are

only way of beating dragons is destroying them in the forwards. i dont think we have really dominated in the a game in the forwards department besides the raiders game. their simple game plan is all based around their forwards, their halves are not that flash and they put most of their tries on from sheer pressure and minimal mistakes. after our last 2 games with the amount of mistakes we've made we will have no chance based on completion rate.

If we get a decent share of field position we invariably win. If we get inside the opponents 20 metre zone it's a rare set of six that we don't score. I don't see the Dragons on line defense being able to hold us out all that much better than any other sides. If we can get some decent punch in the middle third then we'll go a long way here. We need some serious general kicking practise and to give most of them to Lui as he seems to have really found a rhythm with his general kicking. Play the Dragons like we played the Raiders, turn them around and rush them. Let them try to go around us and force the play. I am confident.

Are you kidding MacDougall?

Did you see their game against the Cowboys? Even with one of the greatest playmakers in Thurston throwing everything at them, the cowboys couldnt crack their goal line defence with 6 consecutive sets all in the dragons 20m zone.

They are a great defensive team and have conceded less than 10 points per game on average this year. We will need to score at least 18 points and with Sowards high success rate on conversions restrict them to 2 tries or less to be in with a chance.

And they have only conceded three tries in a game 3 times this year compared to our 7 times.
