Also just to add to my last post , the bengals got real lucky by the fact that a lot of teams picked lower ranked players at certain positions projected to go in the second , and the jags and Steelers picked RBs.

Now the teams picking in front of them in the second round have defensive holes they should address first , which bodes well for the Bengals to get a first round projected OL early in the second .
I think they made the right choice . But as a Browns fan I hope not lol .

Not a dirty Browns fan

I took pity on them cause they sucked so bad 20 years ago , And somehow got sucked into their web of mediocrity. I was and still am a cowboys fan , but I find that the Browns are my number 1 now , which sort of crept up on me .

The one NFL game I attended was a Browns v Bengals game in Cleveland. Bengals fans always talk about how terrible Browns fans are but I must say I had a great time with the Browns fans around me. Most were just shocked that an Australian would support either the Browns or the Bengals and then go to the effort of travelling to the game lol

Bengals get it horribly wrong. Why am i not suprised

Only wrong if their 2nd round pick is not a quality OL.

I get the love for Sewell, but he hasn't faced top competition. Chase has dominated the best, and has history with Burrow. I'm OK with it.

But 2nd round pick is critical. Fingers crossed lots of OL drop out of first round.

A lot of pundits had slater as the number 1 OL . Not saying I agree , but the point is Sewell isn’t the sure fire slam dunk some guys would have you believe .

Chase is supposed to be the best receiver in not only this draft next years and last years as well . He outplayed many of the top rookies last year in college , and if he didn’t sit this year , the odds are he would have repeated that .
I wouldn’t be that depressed about it . From what I was listening to all month , Chase to Bengals to play with his college QB , was always going to happen .

I'm not convinced by chase. One good year on an absolutely explosive offense would make it easy to look good. I didn't see receiver as a need, especially when we have massive holes everywhere else. No idea if sewell is good or not, you can never be sure with draft picks, I'd just be picking the best offensive line player I could find if I were the Bengals. As Cochise said, this is just Mike brown drafting another flashy player. I still can't get over us drafting akilli Smith and passing up the saints unbelievable trade offer to do so. I get a similar vibe about this pick. I hope I'm wrong. The Bengals recently drafted John Ross in the top 10, so excuse my lack of faith in their draft strategy.

Ross was picked with Mahomes still on the board.

The Ross pick was a shocker.

But I'm confident with Chase.
Vikings took Justin Jefferson last year and he was a star as a rookie in his 1st year.

He was number 2 to Chase at lsu.

It's a passing league at the moment so Chase will fit right in.

Ross was a complete reach, Bengals thought they were smarter than the rest of the league.

Yeah Chase is 10x better than Ross

I'm not as concerned. The Bengals draft plan this year has actually worked out well so far.
Yeah passing on Sewell is tough, but much more depth at OL than WR this year.

Needed to replace AJ Green, we got the best wr in the draft and 10 year pro.

Our next pick is the critical one as it has to be OL and it must be an instant starter.

Cross your fingers for Teven Jenkins.
Though Creed Humphrey and Liam Etchienburg will also be upgrades.

To me it is a style of substance pick. Bengals always go for the flash.

At least its not the biggest mistake we have made in the draft lol

Chase will be a weapon for the Bengals. The question is can they keep Burrow on his feet long enough to use him. Plenty to go in the draft yet.

Really disappointed with the Chase pick. If any further evidence was needed, this pick proves the Bengals don't know how to put together a team. I don't care if Jerry Rice is available at WR, I wouldn't draft a wr with our current team. it makes no sense, no sense at all. Not once last year did I think, 'we really need a wr'. I thought we needed 1. to block, 2. to tackle. If you do those things then you can play football.

I predict Chase will be an average wide receiver. He's neither especially fast or tall and doesn't seem to have any particular stand out features. His catches in highlights look pretty average. But highlights are obviously not a great guide. Only thing that seems impressive is the way he knocks defenders down when he runs. But I don't really see anything special.

I also think Sewell will end up being really good. I have no ability to identify what makes a good tackle in college, but I predict this based on the fact the Bengals drafted someone else and this was a position of need.

Terrible pick. I actually hate being a Bengals fan.

I'm feeling you mate, though I love being a Bengals fan. I think I'm destined to support frustrating teams.

Lol they traded down , there goes your elite lineman chances .

I actually didn't expect the Bengals to do this badly in the draft. Drafting a tackle in the 2nd round who had back surgery and gave up a lot of sacks last year just is bad drafting. I understand teams looking at upside etc, but players actually have to play well at some point to prove they may have some upside, right? I don't get what they're doing. I think if you have a really good team with a great offensive line you maybe take on a project player like him, if his upside is so good, but not the bengals in their situation. Also, trading down in the 2nd to get a 4th seems a waste of time when you want to get really high quality players who can play right away. Again, if you're a good team padding out your roster with young draft talent makes sense, not for the bengals though who need difference makers.

3rd Round pick was a great pick.

I'm happy with the kicker in rd.5 for the bengals. Disappointed we didn't get a quality offensive lineman. Maybe our 2nd rounder will prove to be that, but it's not a safe pick. Think we needed to come away from free agency and the draft with three quality upgrades to the offensive line. At the moment we've got 1 player on a 1 year contract. When we get an offensive line we can start playing football.

Hopefully Oline coaching will be a lot better this year and that can make the difference. I'm actually a lot happier with the draft than i was after the 1st 2 days. The Dline picks were important as we had a lot of trouble rushing the passer and think we will be stronger there.

Yeah, I'm not really happy when we're relying on coaching. I'd like our players to be good in the first place.

Didn't say I was either lol

Falcons draft started positively, then selections seemed to get worse as the rounds went by.

Look to have signed a couple of good UDFA in positions of need (back-up QB & RB) in Franks & Hawkins

They desperately need something to go their way.

They took Reilly Reiff in Free Agency on Premium coin, they should have made a play for Orlando Brown, hope he’s better for the Bengals than he was for the Vikes,Carolina & the Pats seem to be the big winners after the draft.

Very very happy with out draft picks...

Just bidding time now until i can get my lawrence jersey 😁😁😁
