Like I said before the game, any sort of win is good and at 14-0 down on the 1 yard line before the half I didn't think we were winning that game. Logan Wilson had a huge stop and had some big plays in the game. I don't care about his intercepts I like the way he reads the games and tackles. What a player.
I was really happy in this game because the defense was bad all game and then made a clutch stop on 3rd and 4 to finally give Burrow a chance to take the lead. Was also good to see better play calling by Taylor in the second half. Need to call more 10-20 yard passing plays, Burrow is excellent in that area.
Bengals fans booing early in the 1st half is so weak. I hate booing of your own team at all times, but this teams been good this year and was way too early to turn like that. I don't think that's acceptable, and that's rubbish form.
Cheer up Jaguars fans, that must have been a really painful loss but Lawrence looks a good run/pass QB and your RB is a good one. Unfortunately just looks like they lack a bit of grit in defense and playmakers to really take a game away. Hope to see your team get a few wins this year and I think you will. I reckon Meyer regrets not taking the FG at the end of the 1st half, going three scores up at that point would have been brutal. But that's the way things go when the team is in a rut.
This Bengals team seems strong. at 21 all I was happy to see the game go either way, I've seen games like that get away from the Bengals and really get embarrassed but fighting back like they do, no matter the result, was great to see.
I really want to say 'this team is good', but I just can't do it yet.
Logan Wilson is a gun mate, I really like him. Tyler Boyd was strong and I think he and Chase work well together. The defense was pretty poor in the 1st half but did enough to get the job done in the second.
Yeah, how many times has it been the opposite for the defense, though? Even back to Zimmer's days as coordinator we'd play really well in defense until it matters. That was a classic good-team-doing-enough-to-get-a-win game. And how many times have you thought, 'if we just get a good drive to start the second half we're back in this', only for us to start incredibly poorly and concede more points. Today we actually did what I hoped for after the half. And a little more.
I wasn't onboard with drafting Chase, but he is really explosive.
I didn't want Chase, I would have sacked Taylor and Anararumo. I'm doing well.
I'm finding it really difficult not to get excited, even after the poor first half today. They did what they needed to in the second half and on the National stage.
Thanks for the quick history lesson fellas. Should’ve clicked to me earlier some tigers fans would go on to support Cincinnati
Supported them since 1989
Glancing from afar for a while, i can gather that’s been a tough time. Cause for some optimism with the current team ?
Some, need to do a better job of protecting Burrow, last season was like a kid on Christmas Day that breaks his most expensive present by the end of the day.
Yeah have seen just about everywhere that the O line is very average
Burrow is franchise transformational and if we look after him the right way he just may lead us to a Superbowl.
Teams got a big point to prove in tomorrow mornings game. Show they’re for real
Great game to watch this morning and the 5 missed field goals added to the excitement.
GB kicker had a poor kicking effort but iced his last attempt in OT and the Bengals hit the post and flag on top of the post which would have put them 4-1 for the year.

The club is on the improve
How about Jamarr Chase with a touchdown over 30 yards in every game so far.

Now the Bills have new owners (The Pegula’s), an amazing GM in Brandon Beane and a kick arse head coaching staff in Head Coach Sean McDermott, Offensive coach Brian Daboll and Defensive coach Leslie Frazier.
The Bills are a very good football team this year and even though QB Josh Allen hasn’t hit the dizzying heights of last season (yet), the defense is back to their 2018 best and we appear to be better running the football too which gives them an added dimension to their attack and takes a little bit of pressure off Josh Allen.
Tomorrow’s game v Chiefs is huge. The game could determine who plays who at home come playoffs time. Josh Allen is 0-2 vs Kansas City and the Bills will be wanting to see if they’ve made any ground on the Chiefs since that heart breaking AFC Championship loss. Cannot wait!
Go Bills!! 🟥🟦⬜️🦬

@watersider said in [NFL Season 2021](/post/1490780) said:Disappointing. Lots of 3rd and short opportunities at the end of the game and each time Taylor went for a run. I just don't think that was the right call. On all of those plays (including a 4th and 2 in field goal range much earlier in the game) the call didn't work. Really, 3rd and short with the game on the line just give Burrow a damn chance.
This loss won't determine where we go this year, and great to not just compete against a top team, but a win today would have done so much to give the Bengals confidence coming back in the way they did. As it is, I think we have a good team but not sure how good.
Oh, that Jamarr Chase was a pretty good pick.
Finally, I hope our kicker comes back from that second miss. Kickers missing field goals really knocks the confidence around.
Big big positive out of the game was once again seeing great 2nd half adjustments. GB still had some big plays, but the Bengals only allowed 6 second half points and once again were able to produce a strong drive at the end. Taylor didn't quite finish it off because he went very conservative with the run when he needed to give Burrow the chance to win it.

Bo Jackson is a former Professional Baseball and NFL player, played at the highest level in both sports. In a 1991 Playoff game between the Bengals and Raiders he was tackled and he suffered a dislocated hip, that he claims he put back into place himself on the field. The injury caused a loss of blood flow to the hip killing the bone and ending his career. The Bengals haven't won a playoff game since and suffered a lot of injuries to 1st round picks along the way. Bengals fans attribute this to the Bo Jackson curse which came about by ending the NFL career of one of America's best multi sport athletes. He did play MLB again after a hip replacement.
Bo Jackson is also the original Bo (Beau) Knows.

Go Bills!! ??⬜️?
Great win today. Started watching NFL around 1990, was initially a Bills fan too and was shattered to watch them lose those string of Superbowls with the great team they had.
Switched over to Chicago Bears but still love to see the Bills have success. Would be awesome to see them win the Superbowl in the next few seasons.
Have you ever seen that ESPN documentary called The Four Falls Of Buffalo? It detailed the four Superbowl losses, probably the best sports doco I've seen, it was brilliant. If you haven't seen it it's definitely worth watching?
@watersider said in [NFL Season 2021](/post/1490797) said:On Bengals:
Had time to reflect after a walk with my dog. Basically if I'd known they'd start 3-2 and played the way they have at the start of the year I'd have been delighted. This defense is good and is the reason we've won three games. They've been really good against the run and great in the big moments. Minor issue is their inability to get off the field on 3rd downs at times, but given how bad defense has been in Cincinnati for so long, this is a huge surprise.
I'd also be very pleased with the Oline. Burrow has been protected enough (still not great, but enough) and the running game has been positive.
Also Jamarr Chase not just not being a bust, as he looked in the preseason, but actually really good is great.
The one major issue with this team is the lack of rhythm on offense. They just can't get going until they pull something out through Joe Burrow audibles at the end of games or big plays by Chase downfield. If this offense gets going then this team can be anything.
So it's a really good start to the season for a team I expected to be really bad. Logan Wilson, the secondary, the Dline, Mixon, Burrow, Chase have all been really really good and it's a relief watching a competitive team again. I also get that Taylor is still finding his way with this offense, I just hope it starts to turn soon because I don't know how many more times good fortune, the defense and Burrow improvisations can get us to wins.
