Nick Cotric - Thread

From Dean Ritchie article

While the Raiders are still hopeful, the Tigers have suddenly become favourites for Cotric.

Canterbury would prefer to offload Cotric – who earns $600,000 a season at Belmore — to Wests given the Tigers could inject more money into the swap than Canberra.

Canberra remain interested provided they can find some middle ground in a financial settlement with Canterbury.

Sheens is the new Lee Hepatits B? Media asks, he answers everything rather than the deal going quiet..

Haha... You don't know Sheens very well - Do you?
They don't call him Shifty for nothing....

If he's letting them know something, There's a reason for it.

Someone is going to be pissed when we don't get him lol

Are you Drunk?
Nothing in anything you or I have said relates to getting anyone...
You commented on Sheens talking to the media,
As I said - If he's commenting... It's because he wants to.

“(The Tigers are a) big chance, because they’re the only club willing to pay his salary that he was getting at the Bulldogs,” Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“The Raiders won’t reach that $650,000 mark, but the Tigers are willing to go there with some additions payments being paid by the Bulldogs.

“It’ll be at centre, not on the wing, it’d be in the centres with the Wests Tigers.”

Tigers director of football Tim Sheens confirmed to Fox Sports that the club had met with Cotric, saying coach Michael Maguire likes what the flyer could add to the squad.

In response to those comments, club Chairman Lee Hagipantelis confirmed those talks and said discussions are ongoing with Cotric’s party.

“I saw the comments made publicly by our director of football Mr. Sheens,” Hagipantelis said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“He confirmed we have had discussions (with Nic) and the discussions continue

“So, there’s always a chance.”

Cotric began his career with the Raiders where he played 93 games between 2017 and 2020 before earning his move to Canterbury.

His season with the Bulldogs in 2021 was a down one with the winger scoring just three tries from 14 appearances.

23 year old rep level player. We seldom sign players like that. So long as we're not spending more than 450k, it would be great business. Immediate upgrade in the centres or wing.

So now that Lee has spoken we can put a red line through Cotric. He always manages to stuff it up.

Not Lee's biggest fan but He has a weekly segment on Sen. They were always going to ask him about it with sheens talking yesterday.

This ones on sheens. If we don’t get him, someone needs to tell him to play a straight bat with journalist in future.

If we sign Cotric I would pair him with Roberts as our centre’s & leave Gildart & Tupou as depth. I would still try to sign Hodgson as well to finalise our top 30.
My Round 1 Team
Laurie
Nofoaluma
Roberts
Cotric
Maumalo
Brooks
Hastings (vc)
Peachey
Blore
Tuilagi
Twal
Hodgson (c)
Stefano
Bench
Ofahengaue
Leilua
Mikaele
Musgrove

Cotric is a must imo. Will sure us up defensively on one side and allow for some trial and error in the other centre spot. Too many question marks around centre atm. Also can't believe he's only 23, and has only really had one bad year in a terrible dogs team

He's got a standing gig on SEN Radio, I am not sure if everyone realises this? They always ask him Tigers stuff.

We will need to pay a few players Overs initially to get them coming here.

Cotric was that guy for the dogs.

He is a good player and will attract others also.

I'm afraid I stop reading at the point anyone suggests picking Roberts over anything north of a tackle bag with Greg Inglis's face painted on it.

Dogs are gonna have to chip in at least $150k for this to be a good deal for us... We pay any more than $500k for Cotric and we are the chumps

I read this as Cotric will get $650.
The Tigers putting in more than Canberra (not sure what that number is) and Bulldogs putting in the balance to get to $650.
