Liked the performances of Santi today…...

There was a passage where he showed exceptional speed for a big guy chasing in defence. He looked great as did Lovett llilovevave and others. Physical we looked strong. Might have just been the singlets but we looked powerfull. Ps singlets now another marketable piece of merchandise especially for summer

Maybe our depth wont be as bad as a lot of us thought,
I liked Santi in both games and they all played well in the second
As I'm from the GC I hadn't seen quite a few of those guys before,
I'm not getting too carried away seeing there was only nine on the field. But there's a reason to be hopeful for the season. For half the first game I thought Santi was Woods. Lamar looks to be a handful and Cherrington makes the future look good . Naquama looks like he'll be useful too

I'm hoping by the end of the year Liolevave is a first grade regular, same for Funaki.
As i mentioned earlier I wouldn't mind seeing Cherrington grab a bench spot too. I know 9's isn't the best indicator though.
I also think Drinkwater looks like he could be a handy depth signing.

I agree with most of your post , but I'd rather see Cherrington in Nsw cup for awhile .

Looks like we all agree on this one.Well done fringe/young players.

I like that Naqaima see's his lack of height as an issue and is trying to improve that by growing his hair like "kid" out of House Party. He's a good foot taller now

2/3 of the team are forwards! Only one playmaker? 2 players with speed?

Warriors could put 100 on us.

JT giving the tournament the middle finger by picking so many average squaddies like Lovett, Luani, Brown, Buchanan etc. 1-2 of those guys max.

Drinkwater to do all the playmaking, passing and kicking? Way to easy to target him. Must be trying to lower the value of our NYC boys by not showcasing them!

I agree with Balmain Boy too many forwards not enough backs and speed because nines is an open field game, Or maybe they just trying to lower the value of some of the NYC boys by not showcasing them, I wouldn't be surprised if the CEO,Coach or Management didn't want any of the other clubs to see or have a sniff of the Up and Coming players in the tigers den, especially some of the players from last years NYC Holden Cup Team the ones with potential, talent and speed not to mention any names, by not showcasing some of the talent these boys may have to offer may eventually push them to join other clubs.

from what I have heard JT is not concerned with the 9s pretty much name out of a hat type team with the new guys chucked in .

I think we are just rotating the players.

yep, Lawrence was quoted as saying that he was scheduled to miss yesterdays second game so assumedly it's a preplanned rotation to minimise the risk of injury and allow Taylor to see exactly what he wants to see of all the players.
It's a bit odd our team actually playing to a planned strategy!

Yeah… with the selection of the above team means everyone in the 18 man Squad has had game time.....

Fine, Luani and Hoeter have all been less than impressive - here's hoping they show something today.
Anyone know what time the game is on?

Don't think previous games have anything to do with this team selection.

Wonder if Taylor has planned for a squad should we reach the finals.
