NINES TEAM...OFFICIAL

As a lot of people have said , it is hard to transfer what happened yesterday to a real game with full teams and 80 mins duration.
That's why I'm still not quite convinced about Cherrington yet.

But the one bloke that I didn't really rate before was Buchanan , He ran a lot harder and was hard to stop, and his defence was better which hasn't been the case before.
His role there was basically the same as in a NRL game , so it is relevant.
I'm not saying he's a world beater , but on the weekends display , he is another bloke who will put pressure on the rest of the forwards this season.

Mate, i can handle differing opinions. Its people who feel the need to get personal over a football team that clearly can't.

It's funny how i have handled differing opinions on this Forum for years and what a coincidence that your the only person that i have been this argumentative with .

Your the only one that i have gotten personal with very coincidental , i suppose i'm trying to drum some home truths about yourself .

But yeah your right it must be me .

Thanks for your advice

Seeing as your the only one who lets what i say get to you so much, maybe it is. I don't see the forum universally agreeing with you, it just boils down to what your opinion is, believing everyone must think along the same lines as you. There are a few posters that get on my nerves who others get along with, and there are a few that i like that no one seems to like. That's what individual preferences are. Don't ever assume everyone agrees with your POV cos YOU feel so strongly about it.

Now i think we should man up and call a truce or just agree to disagree.

He was good day 1 but got caught out twice in the middle in defence

The contrast in moods from Saturday night to last night on here was quite amusing. Saturday night after a couple of wins people were salivating, creating threads chucking all these kids in the first grade side in round 1, last night we read threads about what players need to be sacked. To say that the whole weekend caused people to react irrationally would be an understatement

Oh Dear
This just confirms my point about your actual persona , argumentative , baiting people for more , belittling people over the net .

Your a very sad individual , not knowing when to let things rest.
I doubt you ever had a beer at a Pub with real Men , you wouldn't last if you were to bait people there .
But carry on….....

loves a good serial stalk the ol gnr…i reckon he would last less than 2 mins in a pub...thats why the net is perfect for him to ply his trade.

Why does every disagreement online degenerate to what things would be like in a fist fight with someone? Can we not discuss something like adults without bringing the yobbo element into it.

Ok fellas, how about,I would like to congratulate all the players who were selected by their club to represent them in Aukland..from fringe FG ,state cup and all the younger hopefuls, these players, especially the young players had the opportunity to play against and with top marquee players from the NRL ….they must of felt proud,I hope they learnt something and gained much needed insight on how the NRL season will be like...

Irrespective of what people think of the nines tournament, for these guys it would of been a proud moment in their careers,an achievement some may never be able to do.....

And that goes for all the younger players from all the clubs...well done and good luck in the future....

Overall people have to be pleased with our tournament. We overachieved in making the quarters.

The squad was imbalanced, and that then limited our tactics, where were very average for a 9s tournament. Going with a few one out hitups up the middle, no offloads and then look to either spread the ball on the last or kick it if nothing's on isn't going to win you many games in 9's. Too conservative, and relying on the opposition to make mistakes (which luckily the Raiders and Titans did).

Backs will usually score the majority of tires in 9s and we often only had 2 on the field.

With no pace we couldn't defend a line break so once a team got around us they scored everytime.

Still very good tournaments from Cherrington and Naiqama. Buchanan was surprisingly good too. Funaki and Ava were very solid too.

It was disappointing to see Simona looking quite slow though. He got run down by a prop despite having a 10m head start. Really expected him to go the length of the field and score. Lawrence also looked totally incapable of contributing in the 9's format.

As long as Richard's injury isn't too bad

OUR Tigers had a great tournament

NO Injuries
Players had a decent run despite no creative leadership (Halves etc)

Warriors, Roosters, Manly all sent through significantly stronger squads for the same result

Good for confidence of the team and the club by making the Quarter Finals

Well done WT Club and Jason Taylor for the result with limited outlay.

But between you and me, Just imagine a 9s team with

Farah
Brooks
Moses
Teddy
Sirro
Nofo
Simona
Woods
Tapau
Ava
Sue

Well said TT…. The boys entertained us, had alot of fun doing it and our club is 130.000 thousand better off. I see no negatives at all. congratulations to all the players that participated in the tournament!
