I think a lot of people know Nofaluma is 'close' with the chairman...

And that is why he got his absolutely ridiculously long deal...

Despite all our 'moneyball' people like Hartigan saying 4.5 years for a bog average winger was nuts.

Also why he can't be dropped...

This is why we are a joke.

Dropped for who? 4 weeks ago Nofo was the only winger in the top 30.

Hoffman...Talau...Roberts...we had enough to cover wing. But that does not even matter.

Mate, you are missing the much bigger issue...it would not have mattered who we picked, **we had to send a message.** One of your most senior players turns up drunk...he can't complete training...

Everyone sees that. Everyone knows he has 'special treatment'....

At that moment you have two choices:

**1. Drop him regardless of his 150**....put it in the media and tell everyone that we have standards and it does not matter who you are, or what game...turn up not ready and you are out.

result = establish standards + show every young kid in the club there is a line NO ONE can cross.

OR

**2. Cover it up...pick him...**

result = send a message that there are different rules for different players...basically show that anything the coach says from now in public is a joke, as you all just saw that there are no standards....

We opted for option 2. We have lowered the bar to the point we are a joke of a club with no standards.

It had to be option 1 we took...instead, we took option 2 and it is symptomatic of why we are losers.

I wonder who made the call to pick him. It was noted that the celebrations were already planned. Was it taken out of Madge's hands?

Whoever it was should fall on their sword immediately...because someone has basically said we have no standards.

My biggest concern is Madge seems to be on the outer with the players 'and' most of the board...his one ally being chairman Lee, and the coach is likely just a yes man at this point.

Lee has no idea about footy and is basically a fan running the joint. Anyone who thought 4.5 years for a bog average winger was a good idea should not be running a footy club...

And, yes, I know there was 'pressure'...so give him 2.5 years, not 4.5...better still, let him walk and sign JAC and tell the fans we want the best...

Mind-blowingly stupid...

And people wonder why we are 3rd last and on track for the spoon in 22...

I am happy to defer to others, who would have a better understanding of team structure, but doesn’t the leadership group of the team make a decision on these sorts of things, with the coach obviously having final say?

Doesn't the whole board consist of fans. I thought it was a prerequisite?

Is it true this actually happened over a month ago?

Breaking news now though?

Never understood the hate for nofo. Runs really hard metres, scores some really hard tries where there is still lots of work. Not his fault the inside isn't coming across. Look at the good clubs, it never happens that the winger gets isolated, they always have numbers coming across. Then again the forum loves flogging those who are actually good at the club. Sheens and Benji come to mind. Maybe because they expect the world from them.

Has Nofo walked ?

Back onside?
Across to his opposite man?
Towards the Fox camera?

More than likely.

Yes interesting isnt it?!
***Underlying issues which needed addressing*** as mentioned by James Tamou.
Well it looks like it has been addressed to the delight of most of the team I imagine. Its difficult to see the majority of the team condone this undermining of team morale.

Nofo is saving the walking for game day ....he has taken De Belin's advice and is hiding under his bed until it all blows over

Nofo said,“In the first half our A and B defenders didn’t get up to put pressure than [sic] Moses [Mbye] was getting caught so left 3 on 2 for myself and Jet [James Roberts]. In second half we got up in one line of defence and if you watched 2nd half D’d very well.”

Who were the A and B defenders which Nofo is referring to? Why did we have to wait till the second half to fix this problem? It sounds very amateurish to me,

Looked like Seyfarth and LL to me on one of the tries that Nofa looks to be referring to. Maybe Seyfarth was actually hooked. Could have been LL and Mbye.

The A and B defenders are the edge forward and whoever is inside him. Which is what I’ve been saying for ages . Luciano is a garbage defender , and is the main issue in defence . He’s less of an issue on the left for 2 reasons . It’s the less attacked side due to majority of people being right handed. And secondly , brooks is the best defensive , debatably , half in the game , so he covers up the bad defence.

It’s crap , because of how good he is in attack . I wonder if we get him to defend in the middle , and push wider in attack , how that would play.
This is where someone like Elijah Taylor , would have been amazing. .
Can defend all day on the edge , act as that link man in attack , and provide the continuity , with the chopping and changing .

We got rid of him 1 year too early . Nostradamus wouldn’t have predicted the rapid shift from grind out footy , to this new , garbage NRL though

He had hangover they dealt with it - removed him from the leadership group but now some want to make it into some major issue to sack someone.
A big hooha for the permanently outraged who have forgotten what 20 - 30 year olds are like and what pain in the backside it would be to manage them.

It is not great that he was hungover but if its is a rare thing and he had a couple too many, I don't care. He didn't get into a fight, pretend he was a bubbler, interfere with a dog on camera, rape anyone or any of the other things that footballers get up to every year.

I think you are probably just using this to push an existing agenda, I can't be bothered going through your old posts to check.

If a team is winning, a hangover is not serious, if a team is loosing, everything is serious. Everything is scrutinised by people looking for the answer. The hangover and the way it was dealt with are very unlikely to be the answer.

I hate seeing players working to white ant a coach to force him out. If Madge was to go, they should clear the deck of players as well. Just to show that true accountability has been measured out and to send a message to those left that they don’t have the power to decide who goes and who stays.

There’s no evidence of players white anting the coach. But even if they were and the club axed them as well, they’d get picked up by other clubs. They won’t suffer.

Could really do with Pote from "Queen of the South" as Madge's assistant.
