He doesn't make any errors, because he doesn't do anything!

He is a BLUDGER!!! of the highest order.

I believe the AFP have had him under surveillance for 18 months now - they are about to swoop and charge him with fraud.

Pretending to be a footballer.

Bludger? He makes well over 100 metres every game. He does his job. Good defender good under the high ball. He is in no way a ‘bludger’.

You can't count that
I don't know why so many defend Nofoluma when Nofoluma can't defend himself
So many tries are scored down his side
When there is one there always seem to be 2 or 3 more
It always appears to be the go to side for attacking teams
Nofoluma has an uncanny ability to make himself look bad and other teams single him out
Edrik Lee had a field day
So did Jason Nightingale a few years back
It was a carbon copy and I would say that Newcastle watched the tape of that game and many others to catch Nofoluma out

If someone can get the stats on how many tries have been let in down our right hand edge when Nofoluma plays I think it would provide some insight to his defence
Especially against kicks

I think anyone would find it hard to find a worse defender on the wing then Nofoluma
With similar amount of games under thier belt

Yeah I am always hesitant when I see people say players can improve fundamental skills. Someone suggested Josh Reynolds just needs to work on his passing. These guys train for a living, have been in NRL structures for a number of years, played all their lives. Walters problem is he is small and just gets bumped off a bit, its not his technique. Same when he dropped it twice vs Saints, its just a size thing.

Tell that to Toovey
Either you have it or you dont

Don’t think there’s much room to defend Nofa anymore. It’s quite clear that defensively he’s a major issue. As he has gotten older and had more injuries he’s also lost his pace and his aerial ability.

Love the work he does starting out sets and making metres but that’s something every modern winger is expected to do.

I’d be very happy to get Rapana for this year and stick him on the right wing. Defence would tighten up and attack probably would be just as good. Start selling Nofa to rival clubs, bulldogs need a winger

@McQueen_Magic said in [Nofa](/post/1144926) said:
None of our wingers are good enough. That is just the fact.

Jennings is fairly solid. He doesn't do a lot wrong, defends okay, and his hit ups are okay, but he has no real impact on the game and lacks pace. Nofo on the other hand does a lot of work, takes a lot of hit ups, can get our sets going forward often. but defends dreadfully, is a guarantee to drop the ball at least once every match and lacks pace despite some views on here.

Jennings will not be re-signed at the end of the year. Nofo could potentially be one of our contracted players who gets a buyer, but it would have to be this year...he is 27. I would consider Rapana, but he wouldn't be my preference, would rather us look at someone alot younger.

If Jennings is at a club where his inside men are good he turns into a very good winger. Doesn’t make many defensive mistakes and is a good finisher, that was shown when he was at Rabbitohs.

Put him in a team with little X factor and he struggles because he’s not that kind of winger so he doesn’t go that good for us unfortunately

2021
Might be the year for him

I think this William Kei is our best prospect as an outside back. Was picked out to do pre season with the NRL team, killed it in the trials has played plenty of junior rep footy. He’s one to look out for

I would rather a winger that’s great defensively and doesn’t score any tries. Nofa can do some good things in attack but he is one of the worst edge defenders I have ever seen play. The sooner he is out of the team the better. Jennings cops a lot of flack on here but I am yet to see him make one error so far

Jennings v Knights 72m.....Nofoaluma 202m..

180 meters was Nofoluma giving chase

We have all said it
Defence wins games

Not defending him but...

You can't blame him for all tries scored down his side though.

I don't blame him for all but he does play a big part in the defensive failures

Just on the Newcastle game is an interesting stat or two
Post contact meters
Nofoluma 33
Jennings 32
But
Nofoluma had 16 Runs
Jennings had 10 runs
Both had 3 tackle busts
Nofoluma had more opportunity
In the tackling department it was
Jennings 13
Nofoluma 4
Some other missed tackle stats for the game

Those missed tackles for Walters can be fixed easily through experience.... was crappy game for nofo overall and BJ

How much more experience do Benji and Reynolds need to fix their defence?The problems started where Benji was defending and just got worse the further out it went.You mention Nofo and BJ had bad games but not the blokes defending inside them who started the rot.Not one player on that side of the field could say they went ok

2 Tries Nofo...5 tries bit further in Benji n Leilua Bros..gunna be a lot of droppings..

That whole side needs to work on their defence what they dished up last time was disgraceful.It would help considerably if they worked as a unit and not individually which was the problem

We CANNOT defend with Benji and Lucy together

Saints should have found them out but couldn't finish us off

Knights did finish them off , if the rumours are correct in regards to the Eels 1st up and we defend with Benj and Lucy they could put 50 on us

I for one certainly do not want Eels to put another 50 on us, Again.

Totally agree

Not a bad winger if all he has to do is put the ball down.

He doesn't do anything else!

He defends well and makes okay metres but no he’s not a stand out. In some teams that’s all you need a winger to do. For us it’s no good

How is scolari comming along...

2021
Might be the year for him

I think this William Kei is our best prospect as an outside back. Was picked out to do pre season with the NRL team, killed it in the trials has played plenty of junior rep footy. He’s one to look out for

Kei is a gun definitely for mine and we should be giving him experience in the top grade soon.

It's a pity our younger group will miss out on a season of development as they come out of 20s.

Does anyone know whether they will get to play any football unless Top 30 or on development contracts?

What I'm hearing from player managers:

* Focus is to get NRL back on paddock to generate income (makes sense);

* Player numbers will be limited to possibly top 30 & development players or less to keep virus under control;

* Jersey Flegg & CC unlikely to come back this year;

* Possibly these players will go back to Ron Massey or Sydney Shield - clubs will monitor from there;

* Under 21 comp maybe next year to make up for younger players who have missed a season this year.

* NSWRL staff to go back on 1 May;

* All of the above could change depending on COVID recovery.
