Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma is adamant the ongoing contract dramas surrounding the NRL club's big names won't influence his decision about his future.

While much speculation surrounds the negotiations of Mitchell Moses, James Tedesco and Aaron Woods, Nofoaluma is one of a number of Tigers also to due to come off the books at season's end.

Despite being linked with Parramatta, the in-form flyer revealed on Tuesday he is close to joining halfback Luke Brooks in re-committing to the black and gold on a long-term deal.

"Me and my manager are in talks with the club," the 23-year-old said.

"They're coming close to sorting out a deal but nothing's been sealed yet.

"I'm sure my manager will sort that out."

Pressed on whether he would wait until the remaining members of the Tigers' so-called big four finalised their contracts, Nofoaluma said his only focus was his own career.

"I'm there to put my best performance in for the team and that's my thinking," he said.

"Whatever's going on behind closed doors, I block that out and focus on myself."

Nofoaluma has been, arguably, the Tigers' best over a drama-filled opening six rounds of the competition, leading the league in offloads and ranking fifth in running metres.

He credited his impressive start to simply enjoying the game.

"Obviously just wanting to be a better player, (and) I'm really loving the game and enjoying every moment," he said.

"It's just putting in all those extra efforts."

The re-signing of Nofoaluma would be a huge boost for the Tigers, who have most of their first grade squad off-contract at the end of the year, including Moses, Tedesco and Woods.

It is widely tipped that Moses will join Parramatta after the Easter Monday clash, while Tedesco revealed last week he is being courted by Canterbury and the Sydney Roosters.

Matt Ballin, Tim Grant, Kyle Lovett, Kevin Naiqama, Jamal Idris and Ava Seumanufagai are also off-contract at season's end.

Nofoaluma said Moses addressed the group, prior to last week's surprise win over North Queensland, to guarantee his focus remains on the whilst he remains contracted.

"He approached that in a great fashion and the boys took that on board," Nofoaluma said. "He's still with the club.

"He knows he's still got a job to finish off the year.

"He's putting in every effort this week and I think he's going to finish off strong."

Hes a Tiger 4/Life

Plus he leads the team song with so much passion, it wouldbe hard to imagine him leaving, he is a keeper.

Sounds like an admission he'll be off the bus come next Tuesday.

I haven't caught a bus for a while. Doesn't he have to pull a cord or something before he gets off?

In-form Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma says spirits are high in the team after an upset win over the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville last week.

Playing under new Head Coach Ivan Cleary for the first time, Nofoaluma said the addition of Cleary had played a big role in keeping the team's mood strong throughout the week.

“Obviously we really that win there in Townsville," he said.

"They’re really hard to play up there and were glad we got the win.

“Our new Coach Ivan is doing a really great job with bringing belief into our team and hopefully we can continue that throughout the season.”

One of the most in-form players in the competition through seven rounds, Nofoaluma moved on to say that he was focused wholly on the club and performing to the best of his ability.

“Obviously my job is to play the best footy for the club," he said.

"I play for the Wests Tigers now and I put everything into this team.”

“I’m wanting to be a better player. I’m really loving the game at the moment and I’m enjoying every moment. It’s just about putting in all that extra effort.”

“I’m here to put my best performance in for the team, that’s my thinking, I like to put every effort in.”

“I block everything else out and just focus on myself.”

I am glad he wants to stay and he has a great attitude off the field as well.

On the field, he has been excellent and is arguably in the top 5 wingers in the competition.
I am glad that the media have stayed away from Nofoaluma.
He has great passion, energy and spirit and is a player the Wests Tigers definitely need to keep for as long as possible.
Nofoaluma is easily the most underrated player in the game and never gets himself into any trouble off the field and his performances on the field speak for themself.

I've gone from hoping we make the 8 next year to just hoping we'll have the numbers to field a team.

We might need to downsize the bus. At the rate we are going we might just have a Mighty Boy, with Ivan and Brooks taking up the only 2 seats.

Hope Nofo signs on the dotted line soon. He can sit on the roof rack.

Looks like we might be starting to get some into our squad if the news about Milne is correct.

A junior kiwi rep with both size and pace he and Suli will look good in 2018

I would be considering having the © next to his name. Both he and ET are on-par deserving. Co-Captains.

No way. You don't give the C to a winger.

As in when Taylor goes off the field he takes the role, I don't think it's too bad. We basically have no C at the moment so doesn't really matter.

Yeah I was thinking 350 really should be enough to secure him and I'd think long and hard before throwing too much more at him. If I was him I'd only be signing for 2 years though and backing myself to become a more complete winger with the skillset to present as a genuine fullback option for a rival club.

I think the value of a good "hit-up" winger has increased. Especially with our pack, a good start to the set can be vital.

I agree with this. Each time we're back peddling and our forwards are getting chewed up, you see a player that pops up, hits the line and drives it back….nearly each time it's nofo.
