Nostalgia 2011 - what could have been

2010-2011 must be how fans of regular teams talk, and by regular I mean sides that often make the finals and don't win the GF.

Every year there must be at least 4 or 5 teams that think they really coulda / shoulda won the comp, e.g. Raiders 2019, Penrith 2020.

I wouldn't really know about that because I support Tigers.

We came 4th on 34 points. All momentum.

We beat the Drag queens in the first final

We lost the semi final 22-20 to the Warriors. We had won the game and Inu scored in the dying minutes. I have never cried over a footy game and hopefully never will again.

Manly and NZ play the grand final, Manly take the title that should of been ours.

Sorry I was going back looking for games where we beat Brisbane. We didn't that year, they finished 3rd

Most hollow feeling walking out of SFS after that Warriors loss. Still hollow 10 birthdays later.

I was spading a chick at the time, an American girl I convinced to come to the game. What do you do when footy breaks your heart, then you walk out of the stadium and try to remember you brought this girl who you are trying to impress?

Well about an hour later I actually asked her out properly, because the initial invite was under a guise of friendship, and she said no because we worked at the same place. But I know deep down if Tigers had won that game she probably would have said yes and I might have an American wife now. Life can be funny like that, put a kick out on the full and people's lives are ruined.

That Roosters game I remember watching as a 12 ish year old and boy it cut deep. Forever goes down as a ‘Classic Match’ but for us Wests Tigers fans it’s torturous. I can’t stomach it whenever it’s on replay or someone brings it up. Horrific memories. Thought the Dwyer hit and scrum was case closed but wasn’t to be

That's the worst part, being such an iconic game and it was there to be won, all the hard work had been done.

I personally don't think it made a diff in the long run, because we had lost to Titans in Rd 26 (the likely match up after a week off) and would have faced Dragons in the GF anyway.

Dragons were damned hard to beat that year, it would have been harder to take a loss in the GF vs that semi. I was convinced before the match, same as 2005, the winner of Dragons v Tigers wins the whole thing.

That warriors game is a horrible memory for myself
My best mates 21st was that night, needless to say I almost ruined it with the mood that game put me in.Went home early after putting my boot into my car door 😐
I’d like to think I’ve matured since then, but this team still sends me wild 👹

both 2010 and 2011 for mine..........not sure if things would have changed much after though, but it would have been great to have those

the year we lost out 2 St G,in major semi,Smith had a green light 2 bash us out of the game, ref did not take it kindly when we reciprocated, year after didnt ice the game when the chance was begging but to lose it because bwaff split the scrum still gives urges to pick up a 4by2 every time his head is there
