View attachment 7799Here is a single seater I have got in storage in original condition. Picked it up in a private sale on the old Trading Post.

I picked up the bakelite ink well at a market when they were still running years ago at Menangle Trotting Track.

The daughter used to love this when she was a little girl and she is a school teacher these days. I can't part with it because the daughter wants to keep it forever.

A colleague has one of these, and she chooses a kid a week to be the VIP on Friday. They get to choose a friend, stash lollies and treats in the desk, and di their work there for the day. My grandy is in her Yr 6 class and it's the highlight of their whole life! 🥰

Yeah I remember the incident well, I don’t remember any punishment they got for it though?
But today’s punishment, well that sounds as boring as. I’m glad they sorted it out on the field. It was heaps more entertaining and I bet they have a laugh about it now.

My 1st car was a 2nd hand FJ Holden which looked good from the outside, but unbeknown to me at the time was ready to fall to bits mechanically, so I spent more on repairs than it cost me to buy it.
2nd car a really nice used 1964 EH Holden, turquoise with a white roof and one of the best cars I have owned.
3rd Holden was a used 2 speed auto dark green V8 HT Holden Monaro with gold stripes up the middle of the bonnet and I hated it after a while due to very stiff suspension.

My pride and joy was a Fire engine red, GTR Torana. I stripped the gearbox one night being a lair in Summer Hill, hitting a silent cop as I changed down a gear. Cost me an absolute arm and a leg and off the road for some time.
Was never the same again.
The dumb things we’ve done eh !

I once had a teacher send me out of the room as soon as I walked in to class. He said he was "saving himself the time of doing it later".
That line must have been in the teachers handbook back in the day, I heard that plenty throughout the years. Often teachers would just say to kids as they walk through the door for class "I don't like your face, get out"

My Geography teacher threw one of those huge wooden chalkboard compass things at a school mate of mine cause he wouldnt shut up. The metal end pierced his arm, nothing happened to the teacher, the kid got 2 weeks of lunch detentions and never opened his mouth again in Mr Smiths class.....the good old days.
