(OK, apology straight up: None of us would be old enough to remember this, but I thought the process was too unbelievable to not bring it here)

29 December 1930, David Jones employees pictured lining up to clock on at the bundy machine in Sydney..... Employees would dial the handle to their employee number (1-100) on the face shown here and push the lever. A mechanism inside the box would encode the day, time, and employee number and print it on a roll of paper.
